Remember that that piece on the F80/F82 M3/M4 are just an add-on on top of the bumper already.
So, no design has been altered. My the M50d trim, is BMW design that they removed just to differentiate between the M50d to the others.
I don't understand why, but they used to have the trim on the E70 X5's.
