Thanks so much for posting. It's great to hear from someone who's done this before. Your experience is exactly what they are asking me to do, down to waiting a year to find out the recipient. I am definitely pushing for this and all-in. I talked with my supervisor and he is supportive and understands it could be a life/death situation.
