I honestly think you're missing the point - sexual orientation & preference are not necessarily mentioned by "gay"...
Is English not your first language? I only ask because your posts sometimes show signs of this...and perhaps that is making you miss that gay doesn't always mean gay in the sexual term. All good mate, just trying to help you see it.
No different than "you're a joke" and "I'm telling a joke"...one is funny, one is an insult. Or "take the piss out of me" and "I have to piss"...one is urine, the other was the wind in my sails.
Many nuances like this, especially with older terms and today's PC madness and hypersensitivity for anything that could be offensive to anyone.
