Is there a site to lookup the complete vehicle VIN?

The dealer has confirmed the complete VIN to me and what they gave as the last 7 chars is 'correct' as far as I can see.

What should the start of the VIN be for an F15 40d SE?
Nothing wrong - its cos your car is not in production yet! They seem to 'recycle' old VINs I guess.

As an example, if you look up VIN 0J43940 you'll see that it's a car reported as in production today, if you then increment the last digit until you get to the car which reprts as an old 5 series (or similar) the VIN previous is the last one on the production line. When it gets up to yours BINGO!

I notice that WBAKS620600K77316 was built on 9/6/14 - no more in that series of VIN's for 40d.
