That's very dependent upon the capabilities of the person doing the job, their experience, and the quality of their chosen materials.
If you know what you're doing and have the proper equipment, you can do a BETTER job than you can pay for at a shop.
If you don't know what you're doing, definitely pay someone, or you're going to jack it up and look worse than before you started.
