8TH Speed limit display reading gantry signs
Any F15 drivers in the UK with option 8TH, Speed Limit Display, does yours read overhead gantry signs such as those in use on the M1, M25 or M42 for the variable speed limit sections?
Mine reads traditional red/white & black/white speed limit signs fine but doesn't seem to read overhead gantry signs which are becoming more and more prevalent as more and more motorway goes variable speed limit. |

It picks the majority of them up just fine but occasionally gives a HUD speed limit of 70 and a 'no overtaking' sign for a gantry 'national speed limit applies' sign.

@Gilly1964 Do you know if you have the KAFAS camera system in yours, assuming you are driving a pre F15 X5?

Thanks @worsy, I've got a load of driving next week so should have the chance to try it again, maybe I was just unlucky but it was about a quarter of the way around the M25 from the M3 to the M1 that was on variable speed limit and it failed to pickup a single one.
I have emailed BMW UK but don't expect much of a reply from them if their response to my phone query is anything to go by |

Wish the iPhone integration was better. Miss the E53's ability to control fan speed with the air con on auto. Would like to code the mirrors so they always fold on locking the car. Find it dumb that BMW won't let me load 'safety camera' POIs into the nav system. Love the ACC and adaptive LEDs. Ventilated comfort seats are great. Can't see me ever opting for a car without these and HUD ever again! |

Mind you, I have '430 Ext. mirrors - folding, auto dimming' which could make a difference. |

Yeah - get that, and they fold if you keep your finger on the comfort access ridges for a few seconds longer. It's just that I would like them to always fold when I lock the car without wasting those few valuable seconds!

That's the one. With that set, when locking from the remote it folds with one press, no hold, from the comfort access you still have to keep your finger in it for a short time but that seems like ages, much better than the default settings though.
