Putting ?lipstick on a pig? taking parts from the F85/F86 bin and slapping on the F15/F16. Probably since the parts contract specifies a specific number to be ordered monthly for the preferred pricing for the F85/F86, so just create a ?special edition? to maintain the contracts. Glad that the F15 doesn?t get LLB as that?s what I ordered for my F85. Typical BMW EOP marketing to drive sales. Nothing new.

Pushing all spare parts onto factory cars for the final year. Seems right.

As my 535i lease is ending soon, I excitedly clicked to see what the Special Edition was all about- and was promptly reminded why this was probably my last BMW. Its all about M... Marketing.
Unless I pick up a used 2 series in a couple of years. |

Who cares.....it?s all about driving experience and nothing beats driving a real ?M? car. For sure I didn?t bought my car because it had M4 on the trunk and to show of to those who can?t afford it

I can?t wait for BMW sales number to plummet as these cars fall apart. The nostalgia of what bmw used to be is what is selling these marketing cars despite their pitfalls. Once the driving magic is total gone from memory (because it?s already gone from the cars themselves), they?ll learn their lesson as they become just another random automaker.
See Honda over the last ten years vs. current revitalization.

I also don't agree with magic been gone - look at recent M5 - it's one of the best cars created lately and specs are better than ever before. Look at x5m - it is a most appealing car in its class, hell even a "cheaper" 50i f15 x5 is a phenomenal car that can put to shame 95% of cars on the road. Look at i8 - it's design is IMHO beautiful and nothing from electric cars comes close to it. BMW has most of the bases covered. Yes, there are some weak spots in some class, but BMW never had best cars in ALL categories. I think if we look at reality with a objective view - I see lot of improvements. Not to mention huge amount of new tech BMW released to market within last 3 years |

That said, I was very close to ditching BMW few months back after been loyal for more than 15 years. So, I do share some of the resentment. |

And people say why citizens follow bad leader. Wake up people, Mercedes released a street legal F1 car to take on any supercar on planet and BMW is trying to make money from black badge? Later BMW said it?s useless to make a supercar. So let me get this straight, these special editions are not useless? Or the black badge is not useless? So all supercar manufactures are idiots but BMW is smart? Give me a break. AMG build their engines from scratch while BMW is using shared engine products from N54.
I owned 15 M3 then traded it for 2017 M3 LCI2 competition package. I?m not even going to talk about the steel driveshaft that will replace the cf driveshaft because of ?emission? (shame), Infiniti will release Project S that will utilize F1 turbo technology, Mercedes will release F1 street legal car and BMW is changing the best feature of M3 because of ?emission?. Keep supporting their ///Marketing people, sorry to say this but it?s working.. |
