Atturo AZ850 22" Tire Review
Hi All,
I recently mounted a set of Atturo AZ850s on my 22s and wanted to share my experience as I have seen many more posts about 22" tires and sizing lately. Hopefully this helps some folks in their research as it can be challenging to find the tires and sizes needed for 22" wheels on our F15s. Tire Specs: Front: 275/35/22 Rear: 315/30/22 Wheel specs: Wheels: 22" Vossen CV7; 22x9 front and 22x10.5 rear Offset: 15 front and 20 rear I had some specific criteria I wanted to achieve: Cost: Under $1000 mounted and balanced. Tire width: Maintain the same tire width as the 20 staggered; 275 front, 315 rear. My wheels are narrower than the OEM 20" widths so I couldn't really go any wider. Tire height: Wanted a little more sidewall than the usual 30 front and 25 rear aspect ratio provides on a 22". Front to rear diameter: I wanted to stay as close to equal diameter as possible to avoid any possible transfer case issues down the road. Use: Summer only setup; mostly city and highway driving with occassional spirited driving. Load index: Need to meet the criteria based on manual calculation defined in the user manual. Looks: Can't look like crap Here's a breakdown based on above criteria: Cost: $565.82 shipped + $120 mount & balance = $685.82 total Tire width: Tire sizing above meets the criteria and has just a slight bulge due to the narrower wheels. I do not mind as it adds some curb protection. Tire height: These come in about .6" taller in overall diameter than the standard 295/30 and 335/25 sizes and fill out the wheel well a bit more. Front to rear diameter: The overall diameter is within 1 mm front to rear. Use: The tires are marketed as a high performance summer tire with a Y speed rating and a 320 treadwear rating. Load index: Exceeds requirements by 2000+lbs based on overall GVWR and GAWR(per axle) and won't be doing any towing or driving around packed to the GVWR. Looks: Don't look like crap. They don't have any crazy sidewall patterns or weird name like some of the other alternative 22" tires out there. I'm looking at your Delinte ("Desert Storm" WTF). I ultimately decided to go with the Atturos after looking at various other options available and contemplating whether I wanted to buy a set of tires from a company that doesn't yet have the same reputation as the big names. I also couldn't find any others that fit the criteria I was looking for that had the same level of positive reviews as the Atturos. So far they have only been on for about 5 days now but I am quite happy with them. They mounted and balanced well with minimal weight needed. Ride quality is very good, not harsh but also not too soft. I may play with tire pressure a bit more as I have them at 38fr and 40rr and can probably bump them up a bit more. I've pushed them through some corners and have held well. They have also been low noise so far, no strange vibration or anything out of the norm. Noise level is comparable to the DWS06 on my 20s, possibly a bit quieter but that may change with treadwear. We'll see. I'll post updates as I spend more time on these tires but am so far very happy. Tires were installed at ~2000 miles. I believe 03redtypes is also running these tires on his 22s and has been riding on them a bit longer and might be able to chime in with his experience so far. **I have no affiliation with Atturo.

I read that most of the lesser known tire brands are rebranded big name tires. You're saving because you're not paying for all that marketing. Quality is nearly the same.

I also went with 22' Atturos AZ850s and my experience is consistent with OP. I really like these tires for the price. Definitely a great value.

Yep, all of the major names have much lesser known/unseen before named factories that they use for R&D, testing, proof of concept, etc purposes. Sometimes it’s easy to figure out who is behind them, other times damn near impossible. Hint: poke around the DOT website with the DOT # from the tire sidewall, all sorts of information is coded into that #.
And, of course, YMMV. 🤔

Maybe a month now. For the cost I don't mind being hard on them. Got nothing bad to say.

Sure but for my needs I’m not too worried as I only drive 6-8k a year and I have a winter setup that I run 8 months out of the year.. I could easily get 3 - 4 seasons out of these with no issue. And for the price, I’m really not too concerned.

Good to hear. Like you say, for the price I also don’t mind beating on them a bit.

Thanks CeeTee, you made my Thursday feel like a Friday. From what I gathered a while back researching them, Atturo was started by the Mathis brothers, Don was with Zisser Tires and started Lexani Tires. That and Diamondback Tires. Mathis has been in the tire scene forever, mostly wholesale, manufacturing & marketing...always repping their companies at SEMA.

I'm all for being rational with $$ and saving when possible, but in case of tires you do generally get what you've paid for. |

My buddy has Lexanis on his RRS and is very happy with them. RR dealership actually ordered them and installed them for him on SVR 22s.

For example, Bridgestone makes XBrand 18 wheeler tires because they don't have the capability at their tire factory. They engineer, test, obtain DOT approvals, everything (which XBrand pays for). Then Bridgestone makes them, private labeled under XBrand brand. In turn, XBrand manufacturers a large percentage of Bridgestone's spare tire donuts and trailer tires, and some studdable snow tires, private labeled. Manufacturing capacity, especially overseas, is very much a business decision for many brands. Optimizing when and where you make things is highly profitable. Sometimes much cheaper to pay your competition to make specific things, rather than invest millions in a new line or retooling. And others will reciprocate on your existing line capacity.

Not sure how it contradicts to what I've said. Nothing wrong with no-brand tires if you're just looking for tires to take you from A to B, nowadays almost all tires are at least 'good enough' and of acceptable quality. Kinda like all modern cars are acceptable as personal transporters and will last several years no problem.
Obviously, even top brands have duds once in a while, but in general their tires will perform better overall. Whether that outweighs price difference is mostly a personal choice/decision. |

You could have purchased another vehicle that would do the job for you, yet you decided to buy an X5 to take you from point A to B for double the price. Back to the tires, I would compare them to similar all season ones like DWS06. Not sure they're at the same level. I think we need to compare apples to apples. Only then could we tell the difference. That said, I do think the premium for brand tires is so high that we're all tempted to try them. Am debating to go Accelera for my 21s when Dunlops wear out. |

The Atturos are not all seasons. That would be an apples to oranges comparison.

I was debating Lexani when I was looking for wheels, but I found 215s and went with those instead. I know you said you don't drive much, so we can't really tell how fast they wear, or if they become very noisy as they wear. |
