Downpipe Install? Clamps? Gasket?

Brought the wife's X5 to get oil change & inspection and they said there was a gasket for the downpipe which is news to me, but I looked it up and low and behold there is one. Local dealer has it, but they also recommended a new clamp. The VRSF DP I got for her car was used off the forums here, does anyone know which clamp to get or can I grab one from verocious or amazon?

Thanks!

No, the clamps can be reused unless they break the bolt. Either way its like 20 bucks for a clamp.

I figured. I think the shop was scared the bolt was gonna break when they took it off. I ended up buying a couple different style clamps from amazon as a backup and the gasket from ECS. Will update when I have it installed.

Glad I saw this. I'll purchase the clamp and gasket from VRSF when I purchase the downpipe.

The gasket is super cheap from ECS. My shop ended up using the factory clamp on both my X6 and my wife's X5.

I'm just worried with my car being 6 years old the bolt on that clamp might snap off. Guess I'll get a new clamp to be on the safe side.

I can send you my extra clamp if you want since they didn't use it. They didn't even need it on the wife's which is a '14.

I might take you up on that as long as it's not heavy and expensive to ship.

You should buy 2 of each of these just to be safe. You can always return what you don't need to use.

Agree, since a shop is doing the install, and any delay in parts while they're under it will cost me more labor $$$. I believe I'll only need 1 of each since I'm N55 and not N63TU correct?

Oh sorry my bad. I believe those would still be the correct parts but couldn't say for certain.

No worries. VRSF sales the clamp and gasket for the 4" downpipe so I'll get those with my dp purchase.
