I did that job on my old Mustang and swore I would never tackle it again.

Wouldn't switching off engine but leaving ignition on allow you to run the blower?. You could also use the ventilate function on the BMW app.

The blower turns off when you shutoff the engine. Only the radio stays on. So you'd have to press stop button twice to completely turn off car, then press button again to turn ignition and fan on, wait for a bit then press button Again afterwards to turn off again. Nobody is going to go thru all that...
I've never used the app....
