84k miles x35i X5 or 63k miles x35i X3?
Hi everyone!
I'm trying to decide if I should buy an 84k miles 2014 X5 xdrive35i or a 63k miles 2014 xdrive35i X3. Both have premium packages and both are sold at BMW dealerships. The X5's interior is super well maintained, but there doesn't seem to be service records from 60k miles to 80k miles; the X3 is frequently serviced but the interior is really scratched. Links below: ($23,900)X5: https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/5UXKR0C57E0K43817 ($20,000)X3: https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/5UXWX7C50EL983871 This is my first time posting, so I apologize if this is not the right place... Please let me know what you think! Thanks. |

Your probably going to get biased answers in this sub.
X5 FTW. Give BMW the Vin, they should be able to pull up if it has been serviced but not logged on iDrive. As they are both at BMW, I would guess they are both CPO. In that case go with the X5, nicer interior and if there any issues due to missed service, CPO. Plus you can always do the service yourself when you take delivery, or have them do it. You can always get an independent to double check the dealer, that's kidna always a good advice.
For the CPO, my understanding of US CPO status is that if the car comes with it, that give some BMW Factory backed warranty. It's not the same as New Factory, but allot better than most aftermarket. However, for this (CPO), check with the dealer/ regional BMW to double check. In Australia, even a CPO vehicle, that is less than 4 years old and still under a pre-paid service agreement does not come with any warranty. |

Go for the X5. First, the F15 is a solid, well-built and reliable platform. Second, if the prior owner kept up with the maintenance, the difference in mileage between it and the X3 you are considering is not that big of a concern.
Good luck with your choice. |
