Most important and expensive at that mileage is whether chains have been replaced. Valve cover leaks Suspension bushings Also 2015 is nbt idrive meaning no carplay can be added via software (thats stable) if you need carplay you need to buy a separate thing called MMI box or something(google). Other than that you should be golden. |

This has been listed in the forums, not very far from you:
https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1895010 Lower mileage and appears pretty well maintained. |

Will you get angry at the people who tell you to buy it, and it turns out to be a lemon?
Asking for a friend… Seriously though, if you're concerned take a mechanic with you or ask BMW if they can do a full inspection 🤷🏽 |

Figure out how much life is left in the Diesel particle filter. (DPF). If you have bimmerlink or Carly, you can read it from the car.
They don't last forever and they are expensive to replace. Depending on how it was maintained and how it was driven will drastically impact remaining life in the DPF. Also check in the service records that all the emissions system (EGR/SCR parts) have being either serviced or replaced. These parts are notorious for failing. After owning a BMW X5 diesel in the USA for over 10 years, I wouldn't recommend anyone buying the diesel, despite it being a lovely engine. The emission system "BMW Clean diesel" is just too flakey. |

Thank you everyone for your messages. I was on the fence but will stay away. It was a nice vehicle with all the options but the mileage was too high. I'll keep shopping around. Thanks again!

In an ideal world i wouldnt keep a diesel outside of warranty and higher mileage but if it does have warranty or you are comfortable with where to maintain and know exactly what to look for, the diesel is fantastic. Im a bit biased as im eu based and here diesels are much easier to live with (diesel availability etc) but i strongly believe these engines to be the perfect daily engine. I also have an m4 so im perfectly aware whats missing in terms of feel but torque is torque and these cars are heavy. Unless you go for v8 petrol i would NEVER bother with 35i. |

In the US tho the 35i is looking like the most reliable option by a fair bit. As usual, sadly, BMWs V8 is kind of off the reliability marque. The 35i holds its own at 12,000 ft elevation fully loaded with a roof box at 70mph pulling up a grade. For most people in the US it’s the right option and the sales figures back that up. I thought it would be an underpowered dog. Not so tho. |
