Car Transportation
Does anyone know good and affordable car transportation company?
From UT to NJ. The best quote I got is from Movewheels.com for $875 open carry takes 4~5 days. Any suggestions? |

I've used these guys a couple of times, and been very satisfied.

There's lots of options online, most sites will give you a quote on the spot. I wouldn't necessarily try to find the cheapest rate, but more a combination of a reputable company/good online reviews and a good price. You don't want some knuckleheads handling this for you.
UT to NJ this time of year...I'd recommend enclosed transport - it's not that much more. I'm currently setting up shipping from NC to WA - I'm doing enclosed with Montway. Edit - Movewheels gets 1.5 stars on Yelp (182 reviews), that's pretty awful. Check out the reviews.... I'd look elsewhere. Just my 02. https://www.yelp.com/biz/movewheels-green-cove-springs |

For enclosed, Pilot Transport (a United Road co), does a pretty good job.
You can go to https://www.movecars.com/ too. It's a marketplace for car transports etc. |

I actually paid a gentleman to pick up my X5 from Atlanta and drive it to Texas. He only does one car at a time, and towed it straight to my house. And I paid a few hundred less than your best quote.
See if you can find something like that. |

I would just fly to the car location and drive it back.....that's what I did w/my X5...great experience, and no need to worry about delays, car security etc.
In my case, they'd charge me extra for delivering it to my door step, due to living in a remote area. |

To OP, go to any marketplace site and get few quotes; there's nothing wrong with an open carrier, but budget a week...10 days for the whole ordeal. |

Go enclosed .... not going to go through the gory details as it would take too long but did an open transport of our Infiniti G37 from MD to FL ..... a freakin nightmare and car damage. Spend the extra $$.

Be careful going through a broker service. They'll take the money and pay the lowest possible rate to some random driver. These guys can give the impression that they run a shipping service but they're just subcontractors. You want to deal with a company that actually owns the trucks, so be specific when clarifying this. This isn't a service to go cheap on.

I called a local BMW dealer and they gave me their transport driver number, I used them. $1200 for California to New York, delivered to my house. Pretty good. Only 4-5 days.

Reliable Carriers totally enclosed. Moved my E46 M3 from Houston up to PA a few years ago. They haul a lot of high end cars and know what they're doing. My car rode with 2 Rolls, a Bentley and a 911 all NYC bound. Price was competitive with other enclosed carriers.

I'd offer to drive it out to you. I live in UT and work in NJ
But the reality is that you're in for 2 hotel rooms , a couple meals and roughly 100 gallons of gas. It's cheaper to take your quote. Especially driving Rt 80 this time of year, could easily hit a closed highway and sleeping in the car for a night |
