Rear hatch doesn’t stay fully open
Was doing my spring changing winter to summer wheels today and ran my head into the corner of the rear hatch when I went to put my wheel change tools back in the car, lesson learned DON’T LEAVE REAR HATCH OPEN FOR AN HOUR!!!
It seems to come down 6 inches or so by then….. Is this normal or is this a wear thingy?…..it’s a low mileage car so am surprised/disappointed.

Ok, thanks for that confirmation as I was thinking that maybe the culprit, just that I googled my issue and got nothing relevant must have gotten a bad batch of shocks on my 2018…

Does it lower every time? Unfortunately since they're electric struts, they're relatively expensive, your best bet is probably rockauto

I have owned this car/truck for almost 2 yrs and with normal usage it’s not an issue, just when leaving it open for an additional amount of time it’s important to be aware that it might be a more common issue for other owners as well. It’s just another reason for me not to like SUV’s…..lol the XC90 banged me on the head when I was loading the trunk and put my foot to far under the bumper apparently…….never had any problems like this with all my sedans for over 50 years!
