This is gold.

You mean that whopping 300 lbs-ft max?

Ok, pal. You're the guy who ruins someone's car or, worse yet, hurts someone.

We all need to relax now, he's a Pro, at least he told us so many times over...
If you read his other threads you can figure out he's not the brightest crayon in the box (I feel old when I say this, 80's are back)

News flash: almost nobody who has killed someone or destroyed their car was "out to kill somebody" when it happened.

If I'm not out to kill someone hop off then... If I'm going to "hurt someone" it would be by hitting them which could possibly kill them

Clearly those aren't my intentions

I wasn't going to post in this thread but I feel bad for you Joashstjean I would advise you to disregard this thread, otherwise you're going to be engaged in a long back and forth pointless argument that will waste every ones time here on our X5 forums.

That's exactly the point. It doesn't matter if you intended to hurt someone. You acted I a manner that is very likely to do so, i.e. sliding your X5 around on public roads. And now you're upset because folks called you on it.

Thanks great advice. It's waste of time that will benefit no one in any way.

I just really feel bad for him...
1) He's doing something that he feels is fun or that he wanted to share.
2) He's only defending himself for what he thinks is right.

But:

He doesn't realize that the road is a shared space. The track is where you do things in a safe environment. I hope the one thing he takes away from this is that if you want to try things on purpose then go to a track. If it was done on accident then fine, but TBH I think we all know what happened.

edit: NOTE...what made it really bad was the fact that he tried to lie when confronted of it being in the states. That is the one thing that is a shame in this thread that stands out IMHO.

I think he should of stopped responding after a few bashing comments.

The road is shared and what he did could of been potentially dangerous, even if it was unintentional. That's why "accidents" are called accidents.

Saying that something happened in Mexico is very common. Many car forum users say they've raced or drifted in "Mexico" to not incriminate themselves. It's not meant to be serious or fool anyone. Everyone knows it's not Mexico.

I still can't tell if we're playing a fake outrage game here or all of you are for real.

I can't tell if that is a serious question or sarcasm...

Agree on the back and forth but not the sympathy. The back and forth is useless only because the guy isn't getting the point or doesn't care how reckless he is. I don't feel bad for him, I feel bad for those around him. From his reactions and point of view, I'm going to make an assumption that youth is involved here. That's the only acceptable answer for this level of arrogance and ignorance, to still at this point think he's done nothing wrong.

I don't know about anyone else.. but I can honestly say that I wasn't a complete angel when it came to driving on public roads. I've exceeded the speeding limit on local and highways quite possibly endangering others. I've done a few spin outs and driven aggressively in my younger days..

Of course, probably every single person on this forum, myself included. But I'm willing to bet the majority, when called out on it, could at least recognize doing those things so close to others is in fact stupid and reckless. Acknowledge it, learn from it, and people will respect you more.. Don't defend it and just keep on going. That's all I'm really trying to say.
