A 50 / 50 deal on Pirelli Scorpion run flats sounds fair. They made a mistake and you get an extra set of tyres so longer tyre life and better grip summer and winter. Get him to throw in changing them for you while you own the car and it would be a very good deal.
I had 20" run flat Scorpions as winter tyres on my E70 and they are great. More comfortable than Bridgestone summer run flats and very good cold weather, wet road and snow grip with no apparent problem using them in dry above 7C. I will use them on my F15 next winter, they are less than 50% worn after 7,000 miles.

In either scenario, 50/50 on a set of 20" winter tires or 50/50 on a full 19" winter setup (wheels, tires, sensors), seems like a fair solution and ultimately, you'll have better winter traction and get longer life out of your summer set. All that and they cover half the cost, sounds like a win to me. |

Congrats Baunton - great looking car!
As point of reference, for my 20" All Season mix up I have been offered 20" Winters while I own the vehicle or 50/50 on 19" winter wheel tyres and replacement tyres while I own the vehicle. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts after your trip this weekend. |

The 20" 469s supplied are RF but they are Performance/Summer tyres. I will probably come to a compromise and have the 20" Winters. |

Thanks Team!
Many thanks for your insight and suggestions.
I am leaning towards the 20" Winter Tyres and as BMW UK confirmed via an email that they the 469s are ALL Season RF I think the onus is on the manufacturer and the dealer to provide a nil cost solution to me....I am the customer right! There must be something under The Sale Of Goods Act that protects consumers in such circumstances. Waiting for the call back from the GM at the dealer on Monday to provide an answer so watch this space. Again, many thanks for your assistance. |

So you had the dealer pay 100% for Winter Tyres and 50% for the complete 19" wheel/tyre combo. Which one did you go for? Have started the 'thoughts from Devon' and will post later in the week with from photo's once the car has been 'nano'd'! Cheers! |

I'm waiting to see 19" winter wheel & tyre combos from BMW before I decide - but think I will go for this option.

Thanks, am picking the the wheels/tyres in June....rather have 'em on hand and don't trust the dealer if people leave etc and if we move away come winter. The tyres I'm getting are Conti's not Pirelli's. Cheers. |
