Oh shit, I think I was looking at the same kit. It's still in my Amazon save for later cart. If it is I can't wait to see what it looks like once you get it done.

Got home last night from universal studios at 9 and picked up the X from the shop. I'll post some outside pics after I get new 20k springs on and car washed! It's sooooo dirty right now.
Wing was a Challenge to keep perfect while it set…. I used 3M panel bond and JB weld quick set in a couple of spots to hold faster. Panel bond takes 4 hrs to set. After the JB weld set up it held wing in place so I could put my dive weights on top of it over night, 48 lbs worth.
Here the pics.
Yes shark fin is carbon fiber too

Looks like it's time for a debadge or black badge + black roundels, since you're going w/ the black trim theme.

JB weld right onto the paint/roof?

JB was to hold it … only used a couple of dabs…
With the 3m panel bond.. it's never coming off… I'll have to unbolt it all as one …
Black x5 and black round coming… I have the carbon fiber badge to go with it.
Just did a wash and wax .. enjoy

I think just rebadging the model number entirely from your build would also look great!

To badge or not to badge…. That is the question…
Just got a update on carbon fiber hood. Was pulled on ship and checked in on 4/7.
Praying I get a call tomorrow that it's being shipped from port !

I have the same roof wing. It doesn't sit perfectly but good enough with 3m double sided tape. I used to have the cf shark fin too but it was giving me poor reception for Sirius radio so I took it off. Do you have that issue?

Remove X5 completely. I was on the fence regarding the carbon fiber BMW roundels but you convinced me to do it. Placing an order with IND!

Just saw an Aston Martin DBX and guess what! It was white and had blacked out roof and wings. FWIW, the DBX also has both the top and mid wings - although the mid wing is built in. It is definitely a head turner. So some of your styling is also validated by design from Aston Martin.

Initially it reminded me of the Range Rover, but they also have the pillars in black so the effect is different.

Yeah. My SA at BMW advised against it since she had seen the reception issue for others. Also, water can get trapped there and cause other issues.

Also, don't put your keys in a CF case for the same reason. LOL.

That's for tip!
Trying to find a signal booster but not having luck, signal goes in and out, so a little more signal boost and might have xm radio back.

BC sent me 20k swift springs for rear.
So far nice smooth ride, little bumpy on side rds, but honestly not much different than my wife's new explorer.
Only one bottom out, but was coming off a bumpy bridge to a pot hole on highway @ 80mph. So very happy so far.
Currently at 29" FTG and 29.5 FTG on ride height.
Front has never bottomed out, just rear.

You might be better off just painting the shark fin gloss black or wrapping it.

I always click as soon as I see you have updated this thread 😊

The height looks perfect 👍🏻

I know …. But I want my carbon fiber !!! (Insert hissy fit here )
I'm gonna figure it out !!!!
Might call the person at BC racing I've been working with on the springs and try a 22k or 24k…. Would like to lower rear 1/4 to 1/2 inch more.

You can wrap it with carbon fiber vinyl. From the distance you won't be able to tell the difference.
