Thanks for the help I changed the E-sys Data path and have been able to connect and code. Was a bit overwhelming to start with but I can see how it works now, will post any further problems or findings, thanks again.

PM sent.

Newer PSdZData though is only needed if you can't read ECU or you plan to update firmware of ECU. It is not going to code any differently than you current working PSdZData.

Leave car off for 1 hour. Ambient lighting should return on its own.

Hi Alan,

I have tried to code this, but I do not have DSC folder, only DSC2 , are they the same?

When I right click the code button, at the end of coding section, it pop up with negative response, general global response failed, code failed. But SBRE is already under HO-Wort folder. During the coding period, my X5 also pop up message on screen shows Attention ABS Warning, please try to avoid emergency brake, contact your nearest local BMW service centre.

Do you know anything about this? Many thanks

Got this from another thread....

=> Connect
=> Expert Mode
=> Coding
=> Read FA
=> Save FA
=> Editiors and viewers
=> FA-editor
=> Go to HO-Wort and right click on "Edit," then type SBRE under the HO-Wort file
=> Select the FA, "Calculate FA" to verify that no errors are found after adding the SBRE.
=> Write (write) FA to your car. No confirmation window will appear after saving the FA to the car
=> Expert Mode
=> Coding
=> Read (read) the FA. You are able to see SBRE be added to the HO-Wort folder on your car.
=> Read SVT, and locate the "DSC" (File Folder SVT / ECU / DSC), then right-click the "DSC" folder and select "Code". Consolidation should start immediately.
=> Allow the coding is over, and repeat step 1 to save a copy of the new FA.
=> Disconnect the car's computer. The M-Performance brake is now activated and enjoy the authentic experience of M Performance brake.

I am 99% certain that mine also only has dsc2 folder. The instructions I posted was copied from another forum from someone coding a F30 except I changed it to say SBRE. Not sure about the errors you got though. Shawnsheridan would be your man to ask. Generally during coding you will get numerous warnings on the screen depending on what you are coding.

Does your brakes feel firmer after coding?

Alan

I have only changed the front brake to X5M brake, do I still need to manually change the brake diameter in the coding just for the front? Thanks

You can try coding Kombi => CC_TEMPERATUR WARNUNG = nicht aktiv, but it may be hard coded.

Dealer Up grade during service

I am going to have my 2015 x5 coded this weekend. New to this forum I have read that after you code your veh, if you bring it in for service.There is a chance your service adviser might update your software which if I understand would erase all your codes. Is this true If so is it possible to copy them to (poss usb). How often does BMW come up with these up dates. Being a senior citizen I am not computer savoy. Any info regarding my concerns would be greatly appreciated.

No, there is no other way but to code it again.
You can always tell the service advisor that you don't want any software update.
Unless if it is going to fix some issue that you have been having.

I checked the Google doc and didn't see it but I wanted to ask.

Can you code a digital speedometer where the selectable instrument cluster information is?
