Tired Delinte UPDATE
Just bought 20" Delinte D8 tires for $455 total including shipping. This is for the staggered set.
2x 315/35/20 2x 275/40/20 I don't work for this company or get any benefit. Just wanted to post what seemed to be a good deal. http://www.tirenetinc.com Any know how I can sell my Pirelli tires that came with the car? UPDATE: I just installed the tires today and the car is much more comfortable in terms of ride. Also, there is less tire noise now on highway. Definitely happy about the tires. Will test car in snow and let you guys know how it is. Currently there's no snow on ground where I live Last edited by possib1edoc; 02-07-2015 at 12:19 PM.. |

Wow - Chinese tires on a German luxury car. Let us know what you think, especially at that price.
How many miles on your Pirelli's? How much do you want?

I wasn't referring to the actual review/feedback request. It's the statement about cheapo tires on our expensive German F15s that may garner some interesting responses.
Nothing new. Age old "You bought a $70K car, but now want to cheap out something as important as tires?"-type of responses. Not saying I agree with it, naturally, but can certainly be a polarizing discussion. Personally, I'm in between. I won't spend the money for Michelin PSS, but will also not buy AwesomeTire at $50ea either. Real data/honest feedback is always good.

I'll give you all feedback on mine when I can. If the 22" version of this tire can handle in snow, then anything below will have zero issues. I will say from my experience that these tires have handled great in all other weather. I care more about efficiency than brand names. Delinte D8s are solid underdog tires that seem to have positive feedback in Land Rover, Toyota Tundra, Jeep Wrangler, and Jeep SRT8 forums especially in winter. They also seem to be the BEST tire that Delinte sells. Their D7 for smaller vehicles is garbage. That's how I came to have them on my wheels rather than 22" Pirellis. Otherwise, I wouldn't have even thought of putting them on. So far they have survived a thick metal puncture on the outermost back right tire tread (now patched for the past 6 months with zero issues) and plenty of thunderstorms. The car refuses to slip in rain. I'm looking forward to another person's feedback especially for snow since I have not been able to test in snow yet (which to me is VERY important).

For my X3, I ordered /returned Winter Pirelli Sottozero's II not because they were made in China but they were 2 years old. I settled on Nokian Hakkapelltta R2 made in Finland. If they were made in Russia would I return them, no as long as QC is in place. Nokian contracted out Industrial/Commercial tire production in Romania to Tofan Group but withdrew due to QC. I think some Pirellis are made in Romania. Nokian has licenced production in China and is now considering additional outsourcing in Asia. One last bit on Nokian, they test their summer tires in South Africa.
For me, QC and reputation and reviews completes the evaluation. For new companies and tires say from China there is less info available. CR normally rated the Chinese tires, some were rated low. If cost is a concern consider smaller size. Last edited by barcelona; 01-28-2015 at 07:11 AM.. |

Its true, sometimes you can get a underdog tire that is way above average. I remember Nexen tires for my AMG were awesome! I couldn't beat the price/value of that tire.

I stick with name brands since Michelin and Goodyear are customers of mine. However, on the track, I used Kumho's in the R compound. Cheap and they worked well. So, I am always looking for value - the so-called underdogs.
But to Doanster's point, I do smile when I see someone buy (or even better, lease) a $70k+ vehicle, then complain of the fuel economy and the cost to fill it, or the cost of an oil change, or put $500 Pep Boys tires on it.

I am shopping for winter tire set with wheels. I got very reasonable price from discountedwheelwarehouse.com. Prices are 40-50 PCT off compared to tirerack.com. I would like to know if anybody used/had experience with discountedwheelwarehouse.com?

Alright, I hate to say it, but I'm at a crossroad with tires. I have Pirelli's on now and my rears are down to about 2-3/32. The fronts are about 4-5/32. We are taking a long trip and I probably need tires for the rear. The RF Pirelli are going to run $560 each plus mounting and balancing. Wife is a primary driver because of her job so she likes the RFT. My vehicle has less than 7,000 miles on it, and less than a year old. I called the dealer to see if they can do anything on the rears, they said that they will get with their A/M BMW rep when he comes in later this week. There are several tires I could put on ranging from Continental, Dunlop, Bridgestone, Pirelli or Michelin in RF and non-RF. I haven't heard anything from BMW yet so this is just a pro-active post so I don't get caught on the last week of February before we are ready to leave.
If anyone has any comments about their RF tires or non-RF I would like to hear them. Taking a hard look at the Continental RF (whole set) or just putting the Pirelli's rear on only and wait for them to wear down so I could get another set. |

How big is the chance that I will find a tire shop nearby with one 20" rft tire fitting my car? Most tire shops seems unwilling to repair a flat rft, so it needs to be changed to a new one.
My 20" Pirelli rft's only have 3-4mm left after one summer (maybe 1000km). Poor! I will change to Michelin Latitude Sport 3 non RFT this spring. |
