Can someone tell me how to code the vent seats so the fans running at a higher speed. Also is it possible to increase the brightness of the trim lighting. I have read through pretty much all the pages and can't find an answer. Thank you in advance for any help.

For speed of seat ventilation...it's either unknown or not possible.

For increasing brightness of the ambient lighting...not possible because they are already at 100%.

Isn't this the Seat ventilation settings noted on rows 113-118 of the coding cheat sheet?

Front Seat Ventilation Temperature SM2 3008 SKL_TEMP_SOLL_ST1_KI

I think temperature is misleading since the seats aren't cooled, but I do believe these settings adjust the fan speed for the ventilated seats.

Actually, I think you're right, but they are werte values in temperature even within esys, so yes it can be a bit confusing. It's been a very long time since I've coded them for anyone. I think atomic80 and Trojanlaw were the ones I did it for last a while back. They both noted it cooled better... so fan speed could be the indirect factor despite temperature value change.

There is but why not just press button on dash to disable. Your key will remember setting.

How do I check the firmware version on the car?

Read I-Step Current:

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...postcount=1403

Then Cross-Reference I-Step Current to ISTA/P version:

Thanks Shawn, are we able to upgrade the firmware by coding or it has to be done by the dealer?

You can program car with E-Sys, although it is not as easy as using ISTA/P like dealer does, and there is always risk of bricking ECU(s) during process.

not in my case (France) every time contact is switched on it collision warning comes back on. It is really annoying. I'd appreciate to know how to disable it via coding.

VO Question

I have 2 questions on VO coding. I have a Canadian version 2016 F15 and looking to understand VO coding a little more:

1) I see 2VB (tire pressure monitor) on US and UK X5s but not on canadian X5s. I have TPMS on my summer tires. if I add 2VB will I get tire pressures?

2) I notice 258 (run flat tires). If we change to non run-flats should we be removing this code? I was reading the other day that BMW codes the suspension based on the tire type. maybe the suspension would be stiffer if this code was removed. Has anyone tried this.

Thanks for your help.

I did it last week and it seems working fine.
Thanks again for your help.

I coded 2VB into my FA but it has not picked up the Tpms. It says "measuring tire pressure" but doesn't give me anything else, even after driving around for a bit.

Do I need to VO code a particular cafd Oreo I need to add anything else?

Thanks.

Adding/deleting 2VB or anything in your FA doesn't do a thing until after you VO code the appropriate ECU folder. In the US, TPMS is under the HU_NBT folder/RDC_DRUCK_TEMP.

Is it possible to activate sports mode when shifting the gearbox handle to M/S. Now I have to push the driving mode button (which is not always easy to find without looking), and switch the gearbox handle. What's the difference anyway? M/S changes the gearbox, but sports driving mode changes the gearbox and suspension right?
