Spare tire and tire repair kit
Hi,
Now that I have a 22s on, I started to think of a backup solution in case the tire get flat. Do you guys put a smaller size spare tire in the space saver or simply get a tire repair kit? I've seen some slime repair kit which will pump a stream of sealer while inflating the tire, and also some native tire plug kit. Any experience with either of those? |

I'm a AAA member with roadside assistance, 250 mile towing, jump start, yada yada yada for about $140 per year. That's good for me, without carrying a spare tire, jack, lug wrench, repair kit or inflation kit, etc.

I'm not sure what the storage space in a F15 without a spare looks like. If it fits a spare, get one.
I have AAA, which is my last resort. I've never used them. Piece together a spare if it fits in the storage space. I bought a spare wheel for my 535i. Wheel itself was $110? The tire was 130? Not much of an investment compared to your expensive wheels |

I thought about spare tire too, but my current setup is 22s, and the regular F15 spare tire is 18" and the F85 spare tire is 19", will they fit at all?

Not as reliable as a spare, but for temporary relief, this is what I have packed in the side storage area of the trunk: http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1040108

So far, I always patch my own tires and never carry a spare.
I always monitor my tire pressure, thanks to TPMS. A week ago my F06 gave me warning about low pressure. Then I checked, yes indeed I got nailed. Since I don't have floor jack at home, I just went to a gas station to put more air that should last me overnight. Then I patched it at the office the next day. I mean, unless you got a blown out, carrying a spare is just adding another weight in the car.

Does anyone know if the X5M spare (19" spare) can fit into the space save of a regular X5? I might upgrade the brake next year, and I'll need the bigger rim in order to accommodate the bigger caliper. |

I am going to have to purchase the x5m spare wheel/tire by next spring as well. For the wheel and tire its going to cost about $550.

Lol , not sure how she'll react.
On a separate topic, anyone know what's the part number of the F15 jack? I bent the rod of the jack due to stupidity and I need a replacement one :-(
