is F15 comes with a lots of problem?

Hello,

I am still waiting my 2016 X5 and really looking forward it
I've got many useful tips and information from this forum.
But on the other hand, I've read about "Issues and Problem" thread from this forum and I am bit scared if it comes someday. I know it's bit early but I don't want to get any headache with car and a lots of spend.

Are most of you happy with?

Thanks,

I'm happy with mine so far. During break-in period, I had my share of issues with the car but they are gone now. I know the latest buzz has been interior cabin rattling issues which some owners have been getting a headache over. Since these cars are highly complex machines there will be some minor issues. At the end of the day, no car is 100% reliable and bulletproof.

Congrats on the purchase!

I was on of the early ones to get an F15 in the Netherlands. Build dec '13, and have no regrets. It's a 30d with MPPK. Buying a car straight from the folder back then, I knew I would get my share of issues. But after all only minor issues:

- building quality (steering wheel heat not working, fixed) and the cargo door rattle.
- steering wheel noise which was fixed also
- rear door 'unlocking' by itself, fixed
- had the Brakes replaced under warranty due to fibration
- ad blue error, fixed by software
- when installing MPPK had to return to clear engine warning light

Above may seem a lot but I've driven the car for 2 years now and 44000 km. It has been problem free ever since the first issues. The diesel doesn't use a drop of oil and the mileage is great. It's a very comfortable family car.

That said, I've got a very good and knowledgable dealer closeby.
As prices are different here over in Europe I will have mine for many more years to come and it will not be sold before the 300.000 km mark. Which is absolutely no problem.

So not to worry, none of the fixes have cost me extra money, the Car is great. And ofcourse there will always be areas where BMW can still improve.

It is my wife's daily driver so I'm only in it on weekends, but have put 10k miles on it in a little under a year and have very little to complain about so far.

Although after I hit "Post Quick Reply", I'm sure some issue will be brought up by my wife when she gets home .

Best of luck

Garage List
Most problems will Be caused by dealerships due to lack of knowledge...not the car itself...beware...
I had a perfect vehicle manufactured...a week later there was a squeaky sound from the steering wheel for which they had to change a ribbon in the steering wheel...when took it to the dealership, they had to reprogram the software afterwards, the car was never the same...escalations, finally they admitted they don't know more...that's all they can do!
So try to take it as little as possible to the dealership!

Thank you for all of you!

Yeah no car is reliable 100% and it's complexity of cutting-edge tech. also when any issues arise, the attitude of service is completely different. I have some bad memory for specific vw service which I drive now. that's what I am worry about

I've put 50k on my 2014 since purchase in May '14. Its been in the shop way too much for my liking, but somehow I still absolutely love it. Here's a summary of the issues I've had to date:

-EGR related sensor/valve (happened within 5 mins of leaving dealership)
-EGR temp sensor
-transmission replaced (mechatronics failure)
-LR tail lamp assembly leaking
-driver's seat creak/squeak when inflating bolsters
-rear hatch trim, clips broken, trim rattling
-cluster failure, not showing the lower digital portion of the display (ongoing)
-multple ECM reflashes / software issues

Through all this, BMW has been good to me, and I've never been left stranded or without a vehicle. Fingers crossed I'm through the worst of it...as I absolutely love driving this F15 X5.

In regards to service, I recommend you research for a good Service Advisor at the dealership you deal with. And not only for BMW Service Department but also for any brand dealership service department you deal with.

Personally, before I ever take any of my cars to the dealership for the first time, I invest quite some time finding a reputable and well-reviewed SA. Google reviews and Yelp is a good start. It saves any potential hassle of dealing with a knucklehead SA if you were to just show up with an appointment. If you really care and want good service that both you and your car should deserve, doing a bit of research and going prepared is the least you and anyone can do. Just my two cents!

This is a well made vehicle which we have really leaned on, hard!
Would do it again with NO problem!

+1 for having a good Service Advisor, DEFINITELY goes a long way when having to deal with issues. Raffi from Brian Jessel here in Vancouver has been amazing to deal with.

Bought a 35i a couple months ago and knock on wood no problems. Very few small things irritate me but they can be corrected with coding. Only thing that used to really bother me is the ridiculous A/C issue when it was hot.

It was 110 in Southern California today and it took the longest time for the cabin to cool. Not the case in the 2005 Toyota minivan..

My rule of cars based on experience and my observation is this... I generally stay away from new models first year.. sometimes even the second year. Usually the first model year cars are plagued with issues and the manufactures fix the issues based on the data received

Yeah, it's cooler here in MD so it doesn't bother me now. Also have an 09 MDX that cools the car quick and it has black interior! I'm guessing it's the pano roof? I may put some air blue tint on it next year.

I know Toyota and Lexus have ice cold and strong AC. Acura must be the same case too. Cold AC must be a forte among Japanese brands. But then again, I remember almost freezing to death in my friend's new Ford Explorer!

I think newer BMWs suffer from weak AC. I miss my old E53's icy cabin..

My MY15 X5 has been solid so far. I've had it for a year and no major issues to report. Only thing other than oil change was I had the dealer fix a minor rattle coming from one of the right front trim piece. They fixed it and never came back. Then again I have low miles on it with only 5k miles. Fingers crosses nothing major will come up any time soon. I love the X5 btw. It can be a extremely comfortable highway cruiser and sporty at the same time.

I had a 2014 sdrive35i for a year with 14k miles. The only issue I had was the rear hatch rattle. Traded it in for a 2015 xdrive35d. It has been three months and 2800 miles. No problems so far.

Oh, on the 2014 I have the air set at 68f and I was comfortable. On the 2015, I set the air at 74 and I am cold. This is in socal.
