But B&O is way better than the B&W system. It may just be the new 7, but the B&W system in there is horrible. It may be "cleaner" but it's not as loud and has no bass. I would stick with the B&O system.
I'm on my 4th car with the same exact B&O system and I love it. However, my buddy just picked up a mclaren 570s with a B&W system and it sounds incredible. Either way, for a car system it really doesn't matter. I think the B&O is excellent and coming from two previous m5's where the center speaker would rattle, i'm happy that my x6m and x5 50i haven't had any issues with that. Also noticed there's a little light on the speaker. Had no idea it could be controlled. Don't think i had that on the other cars.

I am getting my x5m and I prefer buttons to touch screen as it is easier to select what I want accurately

You don't lose any functionality with the touch screen. All the buttons still function just as they do in '15 and '16 models.

I was surprised I actually use the touch screen more than I thought I would. My F15 did not have CarPlay, but now that I have it on my F86 I'm giving it the finger a lot.

Fellow X5 Owners: Thoughts on the Upcoming CarPlay Upgrade?

As an X5 owner, I'm looking forward to the new CarPlay integration in the updated models. Connectivity is so important these days. I'm sure BMW has worked hard to make the system integration smooth and user-friendly. While I'm tempted to tinker and find tips and tricks, I think it's best to use technology responsibly and as intended. A good CarPlay experience should be plug-and-play. If we run into any issues down the road, it would be great if X5 owners could share constructive feedback and advice legally and ethically. This integration is an exciting step toward safer and more enjoyable drives.
