Willing to try anything. All part of the learning experience. Just want to make sure I don't do anything to damage the car.
You can't damage a car coding it. Whatever you change via coding, you can always chnage it back to its original coding.

You say it was working before you VO coded, and was not afterwards. So, the change in behavior comes from FA without question. If this Kombi is retrofitted, and came from car without 548, then it would explain why applying your FA to it now would cause the chnage. Even though you did not do anything specifically with 548, it is in your FA, and it is likely the first time your Kombi is being coded for it, as the FA of car it came from likely did not have 548.
Shawn, sadly it didn't work. I removed 548 and coded that to KOMBI and I still have the CC setting in KPH not MPH. Do I need to VO code another ECU or is there some other setting in KOMBI I might need to FDL code.

new values after dealer recode?

So I took my 2015 35d in for an oil change and they did the "EGR coding". When I got it back all prior FDL coding was lost, but the VO coding remained. In addition, the werte values for the GFHB remained, but the VO values had been reset.

Anyhow, when I got to the VLD section of the cheat sheet, I went to set LUT_FLC_FORWARDLIGHTING_Y and the possible values are now:

- F015Codierwert,F015Codierwert,F015Codierwert,F015C odierwert (yes, that's one value and it's the current one)
- I001Codierwert ohne AFS
- F015Codierwert

So, no value of F015_mit_AFS - not sure how to change it.

Any thoughts? I am using version 59.1 of psdzdata, and according to the i-step lookup 59.0 should be good enough.

In addition, I tried to set the AC memory in IHKA2, but all function names are numeric.

Re NGHB: I noticed differences in my F15 both both before (15-07-503) and after (16-07-501) its first dealer programming during my ownership period. That is just because the document was written based on an earlier I-step, but is still valid for newer integrations.

If you wrote FA changes to VCM, like me, they remained and were used to program vehicle. If not, you may need to re-VO code vehicle before making the various FDL changes. In general, just make sure to check all coding. And, for NGHB specifically, ensure the werte values are right, especially when various predetermined drop-down values referenced in guide are not available.

Further, on my X5's most recent update, not all ECU modules were updated, which is normal because new software does not always come out for every ECU in each ISTA-P release. However, I found it interesting that some of the ECU's that were not updated still were reset to factory values while others retained my codings.

Re AC Settings: Strangely, post update, hardware (HWEL) remained the same, but it was the first time I saw CAFD_ID's change. In my case, IHKA_CBF (CAFD_00000092) was switched to IHKA2 (CAFD_000047D6). The ladder is not mapped, however, I successfully can use the former as a guide to code AC memory. There are other instances like using DSC_CT02 (CAFD_0000121C) for unmapped DSC2 (CAFD_0000297A).

For IHKA2, use 3000_5_5_16 nicht_aktiv → aktiv

I do not think you can have fog light day runners and fog lights and there are often regulations against always using fog lights at night. For welcome lights, it is still a WIP. See Opasha's post.

Hi everyone.

I'm the new owner of a 2016 X5 50i M Sport. I can't wait to start coding and have already ordered my OBD2 cable and USB/Ethernet adapter. I've read through 35 of the 120 pages of this thread and don't know if I should be excited or scared! I'm planning on finishing all 120 pages then starting on the videos in the OP. I'm hoping to start with permanently coding VLD then moving on to other goodies.

Thanks for all the hard work getting this information together in one place.

Anyway, this is my first post so now I can PM.

Can it be coded that I switch back from manual transmission to automatic (Drive) through the shifting paddles on the steering wheel? I've tried holding the right paddle, but it won't switch back to automatic (drive). Otherwise I have to pull the shifting lever to M/S and back to D. I get the feeling it should be much more easy somehow.

If you have pulled a paddle to get it into manual then just leave it and it will revert to auto after a few seconds. If you moved the shift lever then you're going to have to move it back!

Does that also work for the M50d? I've tried, but it stays in manual. I haven't touched the shift lever, just the paddles on the steering wheel.

I can't say for certain (never having had the privilege of an M50d) but I want Utd be very surprised if the gear change logic was different between models.

Try a bit of patience and see if it works

Complete noob to coding here... But I did read the OP twice, searched this thread, looked at Tokenmaster's thread, and still couldn't find a definitive answer to my very basic question.

When getting the token through Launcher Premium, do I select F25 or F15 for my 2014 X5 35d?

And as such, do I consistently select F25 for this entire process?

Thanks for any wisdom you can offer!

For F15, it is always:

E-Sys Launcher Car Series = F015
E-Sys Connection Target = F025

Error reading JBBF

Hi Shawn,

My F11 530d got a software upgrade at the dealer (i-step F010-16-07-503)
Reading and modifying HU_CIC, KOMBI and FRM were no problem
When I tried to read the JBBF module I got an error:

Transaktions-Report: Aktion: Codierdaten lesen
JBBF [0] [C312151]
readCPS o.k.
CAFD_00000014_004_110_090 Fehler:
File for "cafd_00000014-004_110_090" not found! [C012]

I have got E-Sys 3.27.1 and v.57.1_PSdZData_Lite

Any ideas?
