The X5 M50d is reviewed by Car Buyer. The M50d features 381 horsepower and 546 lb-ft of torque, from just three liters of displacement.

Unfortunately, like the last generation M50d, this one is available for our European members only.

Nice. I saw a m50d today at my local dealers garage. They have an VIP event next week and after that it will be in the showroom. I'm exited for a test drive before I order.

I think it's not not sporty anymore. Sticking with the old one until something comes up.

Who is the jerk responsible for not bringing the car here to the US?
We need to pay him a visit.

In black it looks better especially the rear quarter of the car from the side. However I really think BMW missed the mark here. They had a large opportunity to really set the X5 up for the supremacy and I believe they are relying a bit too much on the X5 name/brand to carry them through.

Why is BMWNA so stupid to not bring this to the states for the second time. I know a few people that would grab this instead of the gas 5.0 or 3.5d. What a shame....demand is out there. I wouldn't mind seeing this motor in a 3/4 series as well.

Awesome diesel engine, perfect for this kind of car.

Diesel sound sucks on a small sport car, but this is a truck and delivery lots of torque +mpg, hell yes this is the perfect engine for this car

2nd review I've seen now in last couple of days where the looks have been criticised. Quite unusual for this guy to mention that not only did he not like the looks - he couldn't even be bothered to clean the car for the review because of this ! I can remember seeing a vid of him reviewing the e70 a few years ago - no negative comments about looks in that one.

Confirms my feelings about the bad exterior design again. Going to a viewing soon but don't think it will change my views. The interior still looks very similar to me but I should be able to appreciate the difference when I get a proper look close up.

Might be that that engine does not
meet the CARB emission rules in California and the other states that follow California's lead.
