Rheingold is separate piece of diagnostic and coding software that also comes with over 200 documents of step-by-step repair and replacement guides. Also goes by ISTA+, ISTA-P, and ISTA-D.

I am pretty new to this myself but did you code the features into the system? Rheingold is just for the calibration process, from what I gather from the other post's. I forget the software used for coding but there is a section on this forum about it that will help. Anyway good luck and hope that helps somewhat.

Need Rheingold
I think I am going to try this if I can find the parts (touch wheel, sensor, wire harness).
Can anyone PM a link to get Rheingold? 2016 X5 50i M Sport with ACC, Driver Assist+ |

An update on adding TJA to my 2016 US F15...
I have it working, and it's pretty nice, but it depends on very specific conditions to actually work. most of the traffic I sit in isn't on a large highway, so I get a lot of the "lane too narrow or not detected" messages and then it shuts off. I suspect the version on the G series will be more advanced. I used the $300 Quidzel module so I didn't have to change the steering wheel or anything else and I don't have to keep hands on the wheel for it to work, but I'm usually holding the wheel anyway. |

I just used Esys for coding. Didn’t need to calibrate. The Quidzel chip is tiny and easy to install. You just remove the airbag (two spring clips) and plug in the module into the existing 3 wire harness where the buttons are, then pop the airbag back on.

Cool, thanks. Ordered one yesterday so we’ll see how it goes. I’ll post some pics of the install.

That's why I figured I'd post about it. Also, it's very new, especially for the F15.

Just so I'm understanding this correctly this whole thing is to allow the car to actually manipulate the steering wheel to follow the car in front of you. Up to a max speed of 63mph it coded.

Also I noticed they keep saying "test" and I good to assume this is a legal term they're adding to describe the function as to not get in trouble? It does give you full function of TJA. They even mention on the site to use this and then you can purchase the full retro kit?! A bit Confusing

From reading the website, this module emulates the signal output by the OEM touch steering wheel and module. So, the car thinks you are holding onto the wheel, but you don't actually have to be. Mine arrives Monday. Once I get it up and running I will report back. Last edited by spike5150; 05-31-2018 at 10:24 AM.. |
