Running well. In the cold weather, it is like adding more TQ/HP for free. I turned my settings back to D/D from E/0.

Do you know what the default queue is for a 35i ? My RC came with B1 but not sure if thats right or wrong.

I would like to bump it up to what other 35i owners recommend as an enhanced setting.

The manual is not really clear on default and escalation of tunes. Do I follow Tune 1, Tune 2, or Tune 3 in Performance boost and does it increase from top to bottom ?? Instructions and background information is very poor so hoping i can leverage forum members experience for the optimal RC setting.

For the Petrol engines, B1 is stock. Just upgrade from B to D on S2 dial, and that's it. You should be good. Leave S1 at 1. Don't ever change that.

Its pretty cool and a fairly easy install. I turned it upto C1 today will try the D1 setting tomorrow.

Although for some reason when i came out all of my windows were down and sunroof was open, not sure what happened there.

Yes im in long island and would love to come out at the next meet if possible.

Dont go too crazy on the increase, let your car adapt to the new boost..
Drive each setting for a good 200-300 miles to fully adapt
I've noticed the more i drove in stock that even got better

Probably sat on your keys. Hope you didn't do that today with the drizzle going on all day.

Busy with life and school, but slowly getting back . I saw your truck. That thing is a monster! Hope your X5 finds a good home! You'll be missed, my friend. Thanks for all the helpful posts and knowledge you've shared with us.

I bumped my RaceChip Ultimate on my 50i to S2=E yesterday, and the car just flies .

Are you still on RaceChip? I thought you switch it to BMS already?
So does it really work? Been getting different feedback regarding not feeling the improvement.

Yes, I've done B, C, and D (this was my last setting before testing out my BMS stage1 on 1 o'clock position for 2 months before my oil change service recently). I must be one of the lucky ones (maybe because I got one of the original chips when it first came out?), but mine absolutely works. E is running superbly...throttle is buttery smooth unlike BMS and stock. BMS definitely works, but it's nowhere near RaceChip D and E settings. I really do believe whatever effect RaceChip has on torque makes a big difference, but I'm not an engineer or engine person like 42pilot and some of you. I am a meticulous tester though for every car I drive... Even comparing 35i loaners. I really don't understand how RaceChip could screw something like this up, but based on onfirex5's thorough tests, there do appear to be some issues with some of them (maybe the newer ones?). I've had no DME or other ECU updates since installing my 6wb a while ago. Car has zero issues. So using older psdzdata before it was trimmed using launcher 1.05 with esys 3.26.1. Not sure if the older software on my car relates at all.

Nice. And thanks for the comments.

My friend had BMS Stage1 and he was getting drivetrain malfunction at least 3-4x a week he was so tired of it and couldn't get a fix on the forum he sold it. Drivetrain malfunction happen with or without the tune, but seems for him it was cause of it.

I've tried my RC on my petrol engine on extreme levels in the winter and also in my last Dynojet but in warm temps I wouldn't increase mine above F since its already 3 ticks above stock. Also, 42pilot have you asked Racechip Germany?

So all in all the same way a certain map wont run as well for someone with JB4, same goes with RC setting. Trojanlaw I remember that pic
I'd like to share my experience of using RC.
I have it a little more than year on my F15 35d with RC factory settings.
Every time when CEL shows which happens 3-4 only I replaced RC with dummy and usually CEL lights down after 25-40 miles of driving.
I removed RC and harness before service appointment at BMW.
First. I couldn't connect original plugs to snap point, it was kind of half plugged in. I didn't force it to click... I have no idea what went wrong.
Second. I started my car and right away had CEL AND DRIVETRAIN MALFUNCTION message (which disappeared every time when I restarted car in short like 30 sec interval)
Third. I connected RC and harness back to engine with snap and click sound.
CEL AND DRIVETRAIN MALFUNCTION message disappeared...
Any thoughts?

I'm confused and surprised you are getting CEL with RC on factory default settings which is the minimum setting. If this is the case, I think there is more to your issue than RC.

Connection is SO IMPORTANT. The way these are made, a click should always occur. Then, you snap the little tabs (grey for stock tabs on car), and you will hear their click as well. If there is any gap (this was prevalent when using the RED harness 4720 rather than PINK 8720 harness due to a large connector that did not allow a solid connection to the stock plugs). So, if there is ANY gap at all, this will cause the vehicle ECU to flip out and think there is no connection leading to Drivetrain Malfunction and CEL (when there is a Drivetrain Malfunction, you will never lose the CEL no matter how many times you think it temporarily goes away - it will return). Everyone learned this from my first RaceChip install with the wrong harness. This is also why Ben specifically started shipping the correct (PINK) harnesses to everyone with 50i engines. Make sure you have the correct harness and always make sure it clicks/plugs in correctly. Also, the plugs ONLY fit one way to hear that click, so remember this.

@Maxipes , sounds like you were having improper connection issue.
The connector to the sensors should plug in easily with little effort.
And most of the time it will and should click like what opasha mentioned.

I understand that connection has to be completed with click sound. But it looks like there is something inside female part which stopped male plug to move in completely to make tabs snapped.
(Sorry for my English)
I'll make a pictures and will post them today.

I am looking to order racechip soon. Opasha you inferred earlier that there may be some issues with newer Racechips - should I hold off ordering one?

Thanks.
