Coding in the UK

Any experienced coders in the UK or London more specifically? Picking up my 3d on Friday and looking at the tweeks possible with coding, I'll certainly be looking to get some of those done. Happy to pay as well for your time and effort.

Not that I can assist, but what, out of interest did you want to change?

I have successfully coded my F25 X3 and intend to modify my X5 when it arrives in July. I live in the west of the Cotswolds and often work in Kingston upon Thames. It might be possible for us to get together to experiment!

I've coded such things as Video in motion, made Start / Stop mode retentive, auto high beam defaults to ON, changed timing values for auto high beam to improve response times and lots more!

This^^^ Default setting just drives me nuts... I still forget to turn the bloody thing off and get into rage mode on the first stop at the lights. I was really hoping for a while that EU cars remember the setting (like some guys here posted a while ago re: US cars), but no luck there

I did find this: http://bmwspecialistreading.co.uk/coding/

Maybe useful if you don't want to try it yourself.

its more out of curiosity. I like tinkering with my toys, and this seems a logical place to start the tinkering on my newest toy.

Mostly looking to have some or all of the below (Taken from r33's mods portfolio thread )
- Windows rollup via keyfob / comfort access
- Side mirror fold via keyfob / comfort access
- Reduce side mirror fold time
- Trunk close via keyfob / driver side button (not sure if we in UK have this by default or not)
- DVD in motion
- Video via USB
- Temperature on TPMS screen (default only shows pressure)
- M Performance splash screen
- Lane departure on HUD
- Signal on HUD (if this is the turn indicator signals, maybe not)

I don't have Comfort Access but you can do:
Windows roll-up
Side mirror close
'Trunk' close all via the key fob.

Got my F15 last week, currently being detailed but got software and cable ready to do some "tweaking"
Once I am up and running I will report back. If I manage to get this going, happy to help, I certainly won't qualify as an experienced coder tho, at best a lucky one if I manage to get anything done .
I am in Surrey but travel to London on most days

That's great. I didn't realise those were on by default for us in UK. hopefully that means they work with comfort access as well. Will find out tomorrow and report back.

Looking forward to hearing your findings cpd1. If all goes well happy to come to Surrey for the coding sessions.

I'd be interested in these changes too (except HUD). Keen to see how cpd1 get on.

I got delivery of my F15 last week and have bought the cable, but can't for the life of me find a link to the latest software. Could you point me in the right direction with a no-brainer how-to guide to get started? I only want to change a couple things so just need good leg-up to get started :-)

Really appreciated - in advance.

I would be happy to provide software links and other info, as well as help with coding remotely or if you are local to Central NJ, USA I can do it in person for you for free.

Remote coding will require that you purchase an ENET Cable (from me or anyone else for that matter .. or solder your own) ... either way .. grab an ENET Cable and your windows laptop with WiFi & Ethernet port and we;ll set aside a convenient time to get you coded!

Antonio that's a really kind offer! I'm in the UK so a little too far away for us both to meet - but I bought the cable (it arrived today and appears to be working fine) :-)

A shout out to PillPusher84 who went WELL beyond the call of duty today spending a few hours with me via internet coding my new X5 - and FOR FREE!!! What a legend. Did a fantastic job and it was a real pleasure to watch an expert at work in front of my very eyes. Can't recommend highly enough. :-)))
