Does anyone's work properly when pulling into parking spaces ? Mine doesn't seem to turn on automatically.
Any way to have this working more then a few seconds when pulling off? |

Silly question maybe, but are you going into reverse first? That's the only way to turn it on automatically. When I pull my E70 into my smallish garage head first I turn it via the dash button.

Not true. Mine also turns on when I'm pulling into my garage or into any tight space for that matter.

Ya it's checked in idrive but seems to only work occasionally when parking. Not sure what it's looking for but doesn't seem to turn on for parking between two cars unless I manually hit the button.

Mine turns on every time we pull in the garage as well, but we have a staircase wall in front of the car when we pull in to trigger the sensors. |

Has anyone tried the auto parking option where the truck finds the parking spot and parallel parks?

Sorry to ask a simple question, but are you saying that if you check a box in the idrive, when driving into a tight space, the parking sensor will turn on??? Because if this is true, I will love my car. I hate that audi and BMW still don't have automatic sensors in the front and you need a button. It's nice when you drive for miles on a tight road with oncoming traffic every few seconds, and you need to press the button every time, like few during a festival. Please let this be true...

If you select "Auto PDC" in Idrive PDC will turn on when you do the following 1) Select R ( as with all other BMW's ) 2) Select D ( will turn off again when you drive approximately 50m or go over 36km/h(mph 22) 3) When you press the PDC button 4) If the system detects a obstruction infront or behind the car and you are traveling at less than 3km/h(2mph)

2)No way to change the setting of 50m or 36km/h(22mph) when pulling off.

Auto?
I was also hoping this PDC would be fully automatic - just as in my recent Volvo XC60 (and so many other cars).
Today when slowly moving into my garage parking lot, I just felt that the front of the car "probably" were quite close to the wall/an object, so I stopped. Still NO sound from the sensors. THEN I pressed the "sensors" button on the console, and then suddenly "biiiip" and a red warning showed in the display. Meaning that the pdc is NOT automatically activated - OR - it may have different levels -like true "parking level" sensitivity and a "general driving" sensitivity. (Of course "auto pdc" is activated in the iDrive menu - since the very first day) It should ABSOLUTELY not be necessary to turn on this feature manually in a car as of 2014 model IMHO. Best Bent |
