Can-am , looks nice.
May I know what brand of spacer on the front?
Have you take off the wheel again and check that the spacer are still in 1 piece?

I wonder how it can clear 12mm. Unless if it is not hubcentric.
If it is not hubcentric, your front wheel is not properly seated on the hub and you are putting a lot of stress to the lug bolts, which is not safe.

Hmm, looks like they have different design than H&R. I may have to order 1 and take a look.
But this is what happened with 15mm.

Supposedly it won't even clear. But based on the picture you post, it seems to be fine.
But, do double check, make sure it didn't break.

I would take them off until you can prove that they are in fact different (design wise) from the ones in the link Ben posted.
I went with the 5mm based off of Ben's research on the matter.

If it brakes , will it brake right now ir it could happen in a few hundred miles ?
No, don't be sorry for not ordering from me.
All good.

I will inspect it before you go any further. When it break, it won't be fun.
Better be safe than sorry.

Just curious might be a really stupid question but what would happen if you installed 2 5mm spacers? Obviously having 1 piece would be ideal but i really dont understand how that happens to the front. What exactly is wrong with their design that this happens? is it the spacer not having a large enough lip?

You won't be able to hear anything until the wheel comes off the car when the lug bolts break after too much stress.

If they are not broken, then you are fine.

If you take them off, it is ok to just run the rear.

You can use 2 5mm technically, but most of the time, this kind of method will cause vibration. Besides, the wheel may not sit properly since the hub lip is about a little over 15mm and the wheel backpad is chamfered about 3mm.
Therefore, you will only have about 2mm left on the hub lip to support the weight of the car to the wheel.

You can read through my spacer thread from the link that I posted.
In a nutshell, BMW changed the front hub assembly starting MY11/14 to have a longer hub lip into a little over 15mm.

And usually 10mm to 15mm spacer are hub centric, which means, it have the extended hub lip the same diameter as the original hub lip.
With 10mm to 15mm hub centric spacer, they also have 10mm to 15mm depth to clear the hub lip. With a little over 15mm hub lip and in this case only 12mm depth, the spacer won't sit flush against the rotor.
So, by the time you put on the wheel and torque it, you are forcing the spacer to sit flush against the brake rotor and snap that hub centric ring.
Even less than 1mm gap, will cause it to break.

It was a $500 lesson for me. So, please donate?? Hahaha.

I drove another 20km today (so 50 km in total with the spacers) and I'll take the front wheels off tomorrow to check if they didn't brake.

Are you in contact with EIBACH ? If yes , could you please ask them if I'm ok with the front spacers ?

I'll appreciate your help !
In order to talk to someone who is personally test the specific spacer to the specific car, is almost impossible.
If I call or talk to anyone at Eibach, they will get back to you with"It does fit as stated in the Catalog".
Same thing with H&R.
There are a bunch of small disclaimers they you need to read, such as the hub height clearance is customer's responsibility to check before install.

Why remove it. It seems like it work perfectly since it didn't break.
I guess I'll order one to check the difference.

Ben,

How many miles on your before you saw the damage. Really interested to see if eibach has a different design that might work. 12m in the front is exactly what I need

Once you torqued the rear, you are good.
The rear fitment is fine.

Right away after you torqued down the wheel.

Yea, I'll order a set of Eibach tomorrow and confirm the fitment.

Just curious I saw a picture of your rear set up. Do those have to be bolted to the car and then the wheels bolted to the spacer or was I seeing that wrong? Ive never gone above 12mm spacers on my other car so im not sure if 20mm are so thick that they need to be mounted differently.

Also a big thanks to RGSport for ordering a set to test! Im sure many of us will appreciate your feedback to know that we can use larger then 5mm upfront if all works well.

Hmm, Eibach USA don't even have them in stock and no ETA.
In the meantime, I will still recommend 5mm front and 15mm H&R setup.
