Great outcome. Financially speaking, we’re u just out your deductible on the warranty? I will NOT ask about emotional well-being!!!

I consider it a great outcome, all things considered. With the deductible and some towing expenses it will end up costing me about $1,200.00
Now on the emotional well-being side, I think I took 15 years off of my life.

So as a follow up, do you sell it now or are you gonna keep it? Has it soured you to BMW?

That's a really good question. Initially I was completely soured on BMW and was dead set on selling it as soon as I get it back. I'm slowly leaning towards giving it a little bit more time, and every time I see one on the road or see the other user's pictures it reminds me of why I bought it. I guess I'm undecided right now, but I have found myself shopping for parts. KW V3 etc.

With a new OEM engine in place, you essentially have a new car. I say start modding and enjoy it

If things don't work right, then may be time for a Tesla model X. From RangeRover sports to BMW M SUV, next transition is to an electric performance SUV rather than yet another gasoline vehicle with the same problems.

Wow, what a roller coaster ride and a Great ending to a bad beginning.

On a side note, a guy drove a 3 year old M5 into a body shop and told the owner that he no longer wanted to keep the car because he can no longer pay the note and was below water. The owner instructed his mechanic to "damage" the oil pan and leak out all the oil. Long story short, insurance totaled the car , dealer bought it for a heavy discount and resold it w salvage title and the guy paid off his loan and bought a Honda Accord. Lol.

There's a message in there somewhere. Lol

Definitely a roller coaster with mixed emotions over the last month.
A very sincere thank you to this board for the advice and help!
Now that I have her back with a brand new engine, I have to say that it has re-affirmed my excitement for this vehicle. Now, I just can't wait to get that first 1200 miles out of the way!
I'm already shopping for a few mods to improve the looks, so I think you may see more of her.
Have a great weekend everyone!

The service center was also unable to get it started and now they just called and explained that it has a complete engine failure and the engine needs to be replaced! WTF!
This is 5 months out of warranty, can anyone give me any suggestions please.
Thank you
My X6M blew that engine at 65,000… I had extended warranty and they replaced it with brand new engine… at 68,000 miles I thought the transmission went, but it was my front end… they replacing that whole thing right now… I've been waiting a month now
