Have both the X5 50i and X6 50i now, the only real difference of course is that the X6 is a little more sporty in it's handling and interior aesthetics. It's a great car if you don't mind the trunk space and limited rear head space as well.

So to summarise....

In the UK....

M Sport means you get sports suspension regardless of 50/40/30ds.

According to the suspension chart sticky that is not very sporty but very comfortable.

What you need is DHP. Just looked at all m sport on approved used and there isn't any cars with that option.

In terms of X6 vs X5 same suspension spec the consensus is that the X6 is a little more sporty than the five with regards to handling.

Pretty much correct yes:

M Sport trim level gives 'Adaptive M Sport Suspension' which is just fine!

DHP is bound to be better but it's never going to be a sports car! Therefore 5/6 makes no difference, they are not 'sporty' just hold the road well.

You need to go drive some.

Thanks Mark, yep at this stage I think I am going to get a 40d or 50d M with the Adaptive M Sport Suspension thrown in and leave it at that. Clearly I am not going to get anywhere close to my e46 M3 days anyway
