EVERYONE said check DHP 1st. After consideration we did not. Didn't seem worth it, we would have had to drop some other stuff off .. We were shooting for an MSRP of 70k. Now, I've never been in an X5, prior to ours.. Wife did drive one on a test drive, standard suspension. She liked it. Good enough for me. We have about 800 miles on it. I could not be happier, we came in with an MSRP of $72,280.. So we were close to our goal. I enjoy driving it. A lot. EDIT--- $72,220 35i M-Sport Glacier Silver Ivory & White Leather Cold Weather Driver Assistance Driver Assistance Plus Premium Package Leather Dash HK Stereo Sale price of $66,xxx |

I looked at his new 40e order, and it also has the DHP on it. Guess it comes pretty standard in the European packages and not always standard in the US. I ran the VINs of all M Sports for sale in the US, and not that many have it. Almost seems it's popular amongst forum member, but not really for the general punters our there. |

Not true..at least not in Canada, when you select M Sport Package for $4000.00, it includes Adaptive M Suspension. I just double checked my order from the dealer and it's definitely on there.

I already know Msport for Canada gets the 2VF... My comment was in response to a USA ( New Yorker ) order.

It only costs $900 for 2VF - adaptive M suspension... and it would have improved your ride in so many ways...

I've already commented on this but on the ride home tonight I took an off ramp really hard and I'm just so amazed at how effortless the F15 with DHP and M-Sport took it. My wife didn't even glance up as we took the windy ramp at over 60 mph. My old E70 felt like a tank ready to fly off the road at 40 mph on the same ramp. It's just nuts what a difference this makes. You don't think it does until you start to play a bit then you notice it in all aspects of your drive - from the way it goes over potholes to the way you don't have to take your foot off the accelerator on mild turns.
I wasn't a believer, but I am now!

Overall my E70 handles better than my new F16 wirh DHP due to much better steering. |

I don't disagree with that - my e70 didn't have adaptive drive unfortunately. I do miss the heavier steering of my e70 but I've really gotten used to the steering in my f15.

The new M4 had no limit. The X5 did. We went over by $2,220. Gotta draw the line somewhere. At least we do. |

Agree. My E70 with Adaptive Drive is definitely more of a driver's car when it comes to handling. Feels very well planted. The steering is my biggest gripe with the F15. Thin steering wheel and so light I could drive with one finger. And I'm comparing this to an F15 with 2VF (my father's F15). A shame, but it is what it is...

You can test drive ours if you want. Doesn't have dhp, but has m sport and m suspension.
It has third row though, not sure if the extra weight makes the suspension feel different. I barely drive the x5, so never got a chance to drive it hard and test the suspension. |

So I've been enjoying the X5 for a bit now (when my wife doesn't have it) and must say that I've been really impressed with the Active Cruise Control. I use it every time I'm in the car. Gets a bit of getting used to, but sitting in heavy traffic is less dreadful now. I just steer, and that's it. The car does the rest. Amazing option!
