Break-in service

Exactly what do you think is done at this service? Curious as to what your dealer told you about the break-in service.

My dealer told me the standard oil change, along with filters, etc. was performed, and a differential oil change was performed, as well. I didn't ask if any software changes were enacted at break-in.

I'm picking mine up today. They said it would take the better part of the day to do the first M service, they've had it since yesterday morning.

I'll see what is notated on the receipt when I pick it up.

I had my done on Tuesday, and I think they did everything UrbanExtant listed in his post. I don't have my service paperwork with me to refer to.

Here is my invoice.

Great to have the "break-in" completed and now to really start enjoying the power of this amazing vehicle.

SNAguy, I wonder why they didnt change out your oil?? As per that document, they topped it off with a 1/2 liter. Am I reading that right? My X took 10qts of 5W as did UrbanExtants X. Maybe something to look into????

That is "light" .... I took it to the "limit" that I was told which was 4500-5500rpm and not over 100mph or so.

There is the option to go WOT until 4k rpm, and to push the throttle gentle until 4000rpm. Maximum i had was 100mph also

This was about what I did. Hard to keep it under 105 mph on the drive home from Spartanburg.

I finally hit 2000 miles yesterday, so I'm through the last 800 miles of the run-in, and I'm ready to unleash it. I'm heading to visit family in upstate NY next week, and can't wait to cut loose on the back country roads!

I would still inquire as to why the quantity was listed as 1 vs 10?

So I keep getting different answers on this, but how are you guys driving the car until the 1200 service? Some people are saying the cars should be driven pretty hard and others (mostly CA's) are saying don't drive it hard at all.
