F15 M50d query
I’m looking to get my plugs changed. Put it on a code reader and it looks like glowplug 1 has a problem. Called a couple of garages, and one spent a long time telling to change the plugs / relay that the following would be needed
- manifold to come off - plugs/relay may need coding to the car only certain ones work - min 5 hours! Anyone got any experience? |

Not sure if manifold needs to come off, but:
- only one kind of glow plugs are correct, ceramic Bosch (I can check the number of you like). Glow plugs for this engine work completely in a different way than in a normal diesel, hence a very specific (and expensive, ceramic ones are needed) - coding is needed indeed, make triple check if they indeed changed the last, sixth plug (it's a PITA to do), then the post change service procedure needs to be performed - 5hrs? Sounds a bit excessive to me, 2-3 maybe, but 5? No way HTH |

Apparently there is no access so the manifold needs to come off to get to the relay. I’m going to call Bmw tomorrow and ask what they charge for the work. I’ve got it booked in for a full service because I want the service on the key.
Has anyone else done the plugs on the M50d? |
