21s or 22s on my x5

So I have a 2016 BMW X5 with the m package and I didn't upgrade it to the 20" wheels so I have the 19" wheels. Now I feel that the wheels are too small for the car and I really wanna buy some bigger ones but I don't want the ride to be too harsh as well. What are your opinions cause i am new to this and don't really have much of an idea. I've been reading online but I'm getting mixed reviews about it. Should I go for 21 or 22s?

Assuming you will get the non rft, I would go 22". Tires are cheaper, fill the gaps better and rides a lot smoother and less harsher than a 20" rft. I can't imagine having 19" wheels on our X5's, my 20" look too small as is.

The tires for 22" wheels are cheaper, but not to the point where I'd choose 22" wheels over 21" wheels. You'd save around $450 on a set of tires.

There aren't many 22" wheels that I personally like, apart from the BBS SV for example. I actually just picked up a set of 21" OEM BMW Performance wheels for my X5, and I'm glad I made the decision to stay OEM.

@Alij1 , I do have a set of barely used AC Schnitzer wheels in 22".
I believe you are not far from me.
Let me know, I have other options too.
But, no doubt on 22". Tires much easier to find and cheaper compare to the 21".

Staggered is the idea setup IMO.. it looks more aggressive and arguably provides better handling. However, I don't think you are able to do this with 22".. someone may correct me on this.
A squared setup is cheaper and you can also rotate your tires ( depending if the tires are not one directional ). Another option is to add spacers to the rears to give it a staggered look.

22s are staggered. You have 295s in the front and 335s in the back.

They fit and do they don't rub. Just don't hit potholes or buy eBay wheels. Remember, they are 25 profile in the back!

I used that setup in my car and all the staggered wheels set that are sold for X5/X6 X5M/X6M in 22".

Correction, that 25 profile is very thick. Don't get fooled by that number, because that number meant percentage over the width of the tires.
So with 335 width and 25 profile, the sidewall is 3.3".

Of course, it will depends on how big the potholes. I drove over anything smaller than 3" anyday.

22" wheels are proportional to the vehicle size and height however I do not know of a 22" OEM option and some of the wheels out there for this vehicles are between $12-15k a set... not sure I would go that route for a daily driver workhorse.

The P Zeros seem very expensive, are hard to find and I read complaints they don't last very long.

I read more positive things about the Michelin tires. Any clue on how long they last in terms of miles?

I would go for OEM 21" every day of the week. 22" replicas looks too much fast and furious street racer.

I went back and forth. Eventually just came to the conclusion you cannot beat the quality of OEM.
