Quartz FX glass coating

Just wanna share a few pics with you guys of my car and the glass coating done by professional detailer here locally.

The reason for glass coating for me is that I live in a country where dust is unavoidable so I want to reduce the dust buildup as much as possible and also at the same time be able to clean my car easier with just a rinse or power wash.

So let's start!

After they wash the car, it's prep time. This process is very important as it will determine the end result. So it's about 2-3 hours in this process.

After finished prepping the car, it was moved into the spaceship as MattBianco said! for the glass coating process.

Then it was parked overnight in that room and when I went to pick it up I got this!

I see it well parked in the cleaning bay of the mother ship. Space 1999 and UFO S.H.A.D.O. (if you've never seen the shows)!

Impressive facility.

Agreed. IMO, I never see any local professional shops here with this type of setup.

That is just downright crazy (the shop that is)! There must definitely be enough business for them to invest that much into the facility. Impressive results. Sprayed-on is something new for me. Most coatings here in the US (CQuartz, OptiCoat, etc.) are all hand-applied and the material usually comes in a big syringe.

Well that's new - never saw a spray-on application before. Mine (ceramic coating) took 4 full working days to apply by hand (6 layers) and another 1 or 2 to dry-out completely.

Thanks guys! The place where I went to get it done is in Northeastern Thailand. I could say it's the biggest in the region. They deal with automotive glass as well as tinting and glass coating. For glass coating, they have two options. One is the spray-on like mine which cost more than the hand-application glass coating.

The advantage to spray-on is that the silica compound is evenly spread onto the surface of the car and cover more area where hand-applied cannot be reached (Tight places). They also sprayed my wheels the running boards. So full protection.

Here are some pics of a 5-series getting hand-applied coating.

And since they are the biggest in the region where I live, a lot of my friends and family members also use their services. (I'm the only one with a bimmer in the family! LOL

Nice, I am thinking of applying coating before spring but the weather has been not-so-good lately

Now we need photos of "boy, that's really dirty", then "I just hosed it off". Just hosing it off is my ultimate goal.

PnP, is the Range Rover just very popular within your family/friends or is that the main SUV to buy in your city? Those are some very nice ones for sure. 4 different ones at once. You weren't kidding about this company's popularity/skill.

opasha , The RR has just picked up its popularity here, but still considered a niche market due to the high price tag. The most popular SUV here would be the Toyota Prados and Land Cruisers. But LX570 and the GL also are getting more popular these days.

Here are some more Non-SUV rides of my family/friends. (Pics are from the page I'm admin on FB)

For Bimmer's fans!
