I think Alacantara on the dash will be pretty difficult to clean up , especially to take of the dust ...

I'm surprised ...
I usually clean my car once a week , and the leather dash is covered with dust.
You say you have it for 3 months , let us know in a year ...

I mean i do not see any dust on alcantara parts in every day life. Its not more than on the dash but still less noticeable. And it is also easy to clean with any soft microfibre towel

Set includes 2 dash trims, left/right front door trims, and left/right rear door trims.. With the steering wheel, it looks good.

Well , sorry I thought that you were talking of the dashboard in Alcantara ... That's why I thought it might get dusty after a while.

let me try to get this strait.
you can only add this alcanatra part if you want a the interior trim to be carbon fiber? Cant install it with aluminium or wood?
look at this pics https://www.ecstuning.com/ES2859727/
you'll see that you get the alacantara parts embedded to a carbon fiber trim.
I have aluminum trim and I'm looking to keep it that way but to add only the alcantara parts.

Yes he is correct, you an only get the trim attached to the CF pieces. The other issue is that even if you have the full CF interior, you end up getting all 6 pieces (the 4 door panel pieces) which leaves you with 4 duplicate parts you no longer need plus the two original pieces in the front. I sold my complete set to help offset the cost of the original kit. BMW does not sell you just the 2 front pieces with the alcantara attached. Also the front vents still have the high gloss middle section which stands out now since the rest is no longer high gloss but alcantara, This is the exact same kit that was sold for lesser F15/F16 vehicles which never had the option of CF trim in the first place.

My two cents,
Noushy

HI FedM, was it difficult to get these installed? I mean time spent by the dealer? I am scheduled to have the same trim installed on December 1st but I am a bit concerned not to see these guys screwing up something else during the installation process...Also, since I own a X5 F15, I could not get the X6 knee pads, which I definitely like more than the two ALU strips on the X5. But I plan to replace those too with X6/X5M knee pads and just wondering if you also know how difficult is it to remove those pieces as I see you also went for the CF console replacement next to the gearbox lever. thanks!

I don't know about the time needed bro. The dealer made it before I got the car from them

Super easy to install the front they snap off and back on. Took my tech less than 10 minutes to install the two front pieces. No idea about the door pieces as those were not changed.

Will likely consider doing this myself and adding the Alcantara steering wheel.

How does the high touch steering wheel hold up in Alcantara?

Also, any guesses as to what a full X5M carbon trim kit might be worth?

Curious about the offset.

My Alacantra Steering Wheel is like new, zero wear issues. As far as the cost, I had the dealer flip out the dash only since I had the Carbon Fiber already. The installation cost me $325.00, parts I got from getbmwpart.com for $1,395.00 for the Dash/Door Parts and $1005.00 for the Steering Wheel. Clearly Jason and Evan have the best prices for accessories and parts and there customer service skills are excellent. My crappy dealership in Central NJ is horrible at offering discounted prices, I don't understand how they stay in business. Service and Sales are top notch. Best thing is when I bring parts in already and they ask, where did you get this? I clearly say not from your parts department, I get it from a dealership in Maryland.
I would recommend dealer install due to breaking the tabs off.

Joe
