X5/X6 /// M Aftermarket Wheels and Suspension Thread

Thought I'd start this thread as there needs to be some reference for us folks looking for purchasing aftermarket wheels and / or looking to purchase springs or coilovers.

Please feel free to post pics, please indicate specs of wheels and tires.

BC's look great...especially for winters.
Still on my stock 19's on my Msport 3.5
hopefully upgrading after the winter

Nice to see aftermarket wheels popping up.

I had some ADV's for my '11 X5 ///M.

Although they were beautiful and extremely concave they were as soft as butter bent quite easily.

Looking for something strong and durable but still quite aggressively offset.

I'm leaning towards HRE's as well, wish BBS made the CH or CH-R's in 21's or 22's!

Do you recall which model of the ADV.1s?

I was told that the TR1 and P1 Series in HRE would work with the weight load of our cars, so I've been leaning to getting towards either the P101s, P107s or TR105s in 22s with a brushed dark clear finish.

FWIW, the LBB F85 in the DT Drag Times video previously posted (i.e., the one compared to the GLE63S AMG) is wearing TR45s (similar to the TR105s)

I have TR106 on my F86, hit some serious potholes and nothing happened.

just a comment...

i have an x5 msport 50i with Self leveling air, DHP active steering...pretty much exactly the X5M setup.

i do not believe there could be any better handling options.. this BMW suspension system has to be so sensitive and changing any systems cant make the vehicle any more dynamic. unless you wanted to double to cost of the vehicle....

that said, i have H and R springs and links in my garage waiting to be put on.

the handling in this vehicle with these options, well above and beyond SRT and Cayenne capabilities in my opinion.

That's really good to hear. I was told to expect that, namely that these wheels are engineered to deal not only with extreme road hazards, but the considerable weight of our vehicles.

Love to hear your review after you install the HR springs. Love the drop and look in IMO but really concerned of the ride quality after. Only heard from two people that had them and both were completely different. I have to imagine lowering a heavy truck that much will cause the bucking in the rear on bumps at high speeds.

I have been considering the ACS springs IND uses but not sure if I can even tell the car is lowered

Had the ADV 7 Deep Concave Series. Looked incredible but bent the first time I hit a manhole cover - the outer barrel was bent and needed that be hammered out

Thanks northern. That's key info.

It's always a choice between style/fashion and risk (with such short sidewalls). But when a known and frankly expected hazard (e.g., potholes/manholes) causes such major consequences, it's time to redo the analysis.
