What does the dealer charge these days? I remember back when I got my E93 M3 they wanted over 4K for 18" winter rim and tire package.
I can't imagine what they would charge now, 7 years later and for an SUV package. Unless they've smartened up now and realized many were going aftermarket since it was much less than half the price. Looks good! Do you know what size the rims are?

Got them and loving the finish and color!
Anyone know the paint code? I think I'm refinishing the stock 21" to this color

Certainly not cheap! I know everyone has an issue with running aftermarket/replica wheels but I've run a few different sets over the years, sometimes for summer use and sometimes for just winter use and never had any issues. A set like that (with the same winter tires, but different wheels) could be had for well $12-1500 (USD) or under $2k (CAD).

Seems slightly odd to buy the $100k car and then start pinching pennies. But to each his own.
Roll the winter package into your lease or financing and the price becomes fairly insignificant...and you can probably get a discount. |

Understood, but R8 makes a good point -- at this price point, there are many options.

For me, one of the deciding factors in going for the BMW winter set was that they would be covered by the wheel and tire insurance I purchased with my vehicle. My husband curbs wheels/rims like it's his job, and on top of that, Cape Cod has deplorable roads in the winter. With nasty winter weather, short daylight hours, etc., I wanted the ability to be able to easily take it to the dealership and say "fix it!", should something go awry, and have it cost nothing more than a minor deductible.

I would agree if it was pennies but it's far from pennies at $4-5k for winters. With that mindset, why bother negotiating a discount off of MSRP? Your lucky to get 5-6k off these cars, but yet we all do it to save a couple grand. Does it matter? No! Does it feel good to know you got a discount? Yes! So to me it's the same principal, just because I can afford it, doesn't mean I don't want a Better deal or in this case to pay less for essentially the same product!

I got them 2 months ago and my dealer sold them for $4k plus tax. Anything around that price or better is a fair price. As for aftermarket, you can do it but you will end up paying around $2250 or more for the wheels, tires, sensors, and assembly plus they are not covered by the tire and wheel warranty and most finishes do not hold up to salt and winter. In the end if you take care of the factory wheels for 3 years you can probably sell them for around $2k even with worn tires. Those pirelli tires btw are not available in that size in this country right now. So that is the only way to get them.

No, they're not in stock. But I was told if I ordered them they could be built and then delivered within a week or so which isn't too bad. The dealer service rep said they just don't keep these rarer items in stock. It took him half a day to figure out what the correct part #s even were. He first quoted over 6k but then said he needed confirmation that was even for the correct set. That's when he came back with the more "reasonable" number.
