Donnington: would you buy again?

My wife and I have just sold our carmine red cayenne gts and in the market for something new. We thought we wanted LBB, but when she saw it in person, she was disappointed it wasnt more like my previous estoril cars... I still kinda liked lbb, especially after I woulda done the usual cosmetic mods. She doesn't want red again but wants something a little different, and there are plenty of DG available out there. I can't get a feel for DG from pictures, sometimes it looks liquid metal, and other times just like my silver-gray e46. I guess what I'm asking is, going down the road, does the color blend in to the pack (I know that could be good or bad depending on preference), or does it stand out being a unique shade?

Thanks,
Rm

DG is beautiful in person; color has a lot of depth to it, especially in direct sunlight. It also takes well to the standard after-market cosmetic upgrades, much like LBB (black-out grills, sides, CF mirrors, etc, etc).

My dealer had two identical cars on the lot - on in DG and one in LBB when I purchased. In the end LBB won me over (I'm a sucker for blue cars, and it's WAY more rare of a color here in the PNW). But the decision was super-close; that's how nice the DG was in-person.

DG looks great and hides dirt well, which is great if you live somewhere it rains and/or snows. But it certainly isnt flashy likr LBB.

Had the exact same dilemma this morning. LBB on black or Donington on Red. In the end, I like the idea of an slightly unique but understated exterior, and awesome cool interior so I went with Donnington.

If I can do it again I still would choose DG.

I think DG is ok, but a bit overplayed. The LBB is spectacular but a little bright and flashy. But the previous poster is correct in saying the black trim goes well with these colors. My two cents.

Yes I would buy it again. Especially with the red interior.

With my past black and blue cars I would force myself to the car wash 2-3 times a week. With Donnington I can hold out a good 7 days without a wash!

Sounds beautiful I almost did mineral white with either Mugello or Aragon but ended up with LBB. Aragon is absolutely beautiful and classy. The red is just too bright and flashy after a bit of time.
