Retrofit comfort access in 2017 X5

I'm looking at a 2017 X5 and just realized it doesn't have the premium package. I am interested in the "comfort access" options that come with this package. Is it possible to retrofit comfort access into the X5 ? Has anyone done this ?

Yes. They sell the kits on various sites.

It’s possible and it’s a lot of parts and work. I would recommend to look for another car.

Bimmertech is selling them.
I haven't done install on them yet, but it shouldn't be that hard and that many components.

Let me know if you are local to me.

I tried and it was a massive failure.
Yes, it can be done but it's a hit or miss. The Youtube install video from Bimmertech was done on a 3 series so you have to be a real deal DIYer for the wiring because there are steps unique to the X5 specially accessing that %#$&^*# module located inside the body frame in the passenger side (took me 2 hrs just for that step alone).

In my case, it was a miss. My X5 recognized the Comfort Access but it was showing an error. Im pretty good at wiring and I know I followed the instructions but the frustration just got to me and never attempted to troubleshoot anymore.

I dont have anything against Bimmertech but they shouldn't have released that retrofit for the F15...OR they should have at least been honest with it. THERE IS NO WAY 3 ink cartridge sized modules plus the thick wires attached to it will fit in the carpeting.

I only got 50% refund from bimmertech not counting the $150 in costs of shipping it back.

Bimmertech offers it and I've done several of them, successfully, including F15s. Tedious and a bit time consuming but not at all extremely difficult.

As I recall they had everything documented already. I could be wrong though or thinking of a different vehicle since my brain does tend to wander sometimes.
