My oil report analysis-diesel
This is using Mobil’s esp 5w30. The first oil in the report is BMWs oil which appears to not be as good as the mobile.

Thanks for sharing.
I do believe that the oil analysis is a good thing. A lot of companies do this that run large diesel engines, such as large trucks, and heavy equipment.

I’m suprised at the lack of molybdenum in Bmw oil, The metals (ie iron aluminum copper chromium) were higher with Bmw oil however taking in consideration
with a lower mile engine I suspect tolerance were tighter and was in the end of breaking in” phase so slightly higher metal level is expected. Mobil 1 oil holding up well, but the TBN slightly lower but still strong with good service, I don’t see anything wrong going 10k miles, but for i I probably stick with 7500 miles. FYI you might get more in-depth feed back on bobistheoilguy forum (the oil enthusiast site) I’ll see if I can find some VOA for both oils Update BMW LL-04 5w-30 (Shell) Last edited by Mr.47; 09-29-2018 at 10:46 PM.. |
