Did you purchase the unit from RGSport/Ben or RC directly? I always recommend for members to use Ben when they can, his customer service and deals are the best. Example: I ran into an issue while installing my RC GTS black (cam sensor plug) and even though it was late in the evening, he was quick to reply and help me work through it. As for the packaging, that happens, I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

But, believe it or not, that part of the box doesn't hold up the module very well.
Especially during shipment.

As far as if it is working or not, you should notice a great difference.
Especially if you are on Race+.

I agree, you should definitely feel the response difference right away. Are you using the app or manual controller? What mode is your X5 in? What mode are you testing the XLR in?
Put the X5 in Sport, then XLR in Race and see how that feels? If nothing, then you may have a defective unit and or cord/connections.

I bought it directly from RC because it was the last night of their BF sale and I wasn't sure if Ben had the same sale.

I tried it in every combination of XLR (manual controller) and X5 setting and also flashed my BM3 back to stock and tried it. No distinct difference that me or my passenger could tell.

Thanks, I appreciate the offer. I'd rather have them replace it with a new unit since the cable bundle is questionable. Would you be able to have them swap it out for a new unit?

I do offer what RaceChip offers on their special deals.
But, I always run a daily deals to forum members regardless.

That would be out of my control to tell them what to do.
It seems like you got them shipped directly from Germany.
Most cases, they will ask you to ship the unit back to Germany in order for exchange.
I hope that's not the case since they have office in the US now.

Sorry to revive this but is it safe to say that the XLR gives more instant "power" vs just the tune alone?

It just opens the throttle body faster so the power is more immediate. I've often wondered if there was a reason that the BMW engineers made the delay in the throttle body opening.

Installed mine and SPORT is best setting for me. Sport+ was a bit too aggressive for "comfort" driving. Def a good buy!
