Please share the connector and wire color problem you identified with us. I wonder if it applies only to X3s? How did you locate the error?
Mine shipped from Dubai today; ordered it on Black Friday. I also ordered a MMI Prime on the following Sunday and it also shipped from Dubai and arrived in NC in 2 days. It's interesting their products are shipping from all over the place. I would have figured they would come from them directly out of FL.

That must be X3 specific - or, they updated the directions. There is only one reference to a green cable (wire) in all the pages.

Yes they are , that page is completely different from mine . The point I was making is that there is no blanket instructions, every car wiring is different one person above also had a discrepancy with the wire colors. The instructions should be perfect, you’re dealing with the cars BDC .

I will be comparing the pins with the function in ISTA during my install. This ought to callout any obvious mismatch, at least.

My upcoming weekend plroject.

All wrapped up. The Bimmer-tech kit installed and worked perfectly on the first go with the wife's 2018 F15. There were no errors in the documentation, either.

A very high quality kit. If you are patient and methodical, you will have no issues. If not, find somebody else to install it. Seriously.

I still do not like that it kills the engine when opening the door. Also, turning off the remote start with the fob requires pushing the tailgate button 3x. That also opens the tailgate. Kind of annoying, but not a big deal. Changing the 20-minute default running time to 30-minutes was straightforward.

The cost is high, but the smile on my wife's face made it worth it. Especially, before the cold & icy winter really hits!

I just got mine after buying it on the black friday sale, any tips on the install?

Don't try and unclip the black cover over the BDC without unscrewing it first. I cracked the cover and will need to purchase a new one.

The install was very simple, otherwise. Instead of a pick, I used a mini flat-blade screwdriver to release the pins.

Ordered mine in the 28th. Shipped this last Thursday from Dubai. Been crickets since though. Got a FedEx tracking number. Not sure how good that is. Haha

Luckily when I ordered a remote start from Canada for me F90 it came with special tools to remove the pins. Makes the job much easier. You want to see a complicated install woof. I’m looking forward to this one! Haha

Only think I like more about the F90 one is I could connect a 3rd party remote so I can access it via an app. I don’t use the key to start it. Only my phone. Shame. But did cost about $950 vice $500.

Do need to find out how to bypass the bs shutdown when the door is open thing. Ugh.

Oh and I really hate requiring a signature. Cmon man. My wife and I work during the day! At least with ups I can wave it in my account.

Unfortunately, the true cost of the Bimmer-tech is about $950 factoring in the key fob it keeps hostage.

Well sure but it’s still $450 less than others so that’s not really a meaningful factor

Do you have Bimmercode? There's a delay setting for the tailgate you could try. Maybe set it to 5 seconds and see if that stops it from opening when you turn the car off with the remote.

My kit arrived on Wednesday and I'll be installing it today. Perfect timing as the lows for next 10 days will be in the teens and low 20s.

I use E-Sys for coding.

You got it, though! I had set that to zero.

Good deal.

Just finished my install. Total time took just over 2 hrs and that included removing the passenger seat as I'm not a contortionist. Just laid the passenger seat in the back seat to get it out of the way.

Everything is working good. No codes and it started right up on the first try. Shuts off when you open the door but not when it's unlocked using comfort access. I thought they said that would turn the engine off too.

I recall having to pull the door open to get it to shut off. I do not believe CA did it - but I will have to check again to be certain.

It wouldn't surprise me if there was a glitch in the Matrix. Generally, the Germans are bananas with their programming and it would be entirely likely to encounter some condition that throws a wrench in the Bimmer-tech scheme. It may have worked that way in one particular year or trim level, but not in another.

Confirmed. The door must be physically opened to shut the engine off.

Additionally, engine shutdown occurs after a timeout, opening the tailgate or pressing the tailgate button 3x.

Just got a call from Bimmertech asking if I got my unit. Odd considering the tracking number clearly states fedex is still waiting on the package from the UAE. Now I’m Being told they have to send me another one. SMH so much for getting this in for Christmas.

That sucks. They should expedite that for you. It was 22° this morning when I left for work. Started the car about 15 minutes before I left. I have the driver seat heater set up to not time out so put it on max last night. It was very nice getting in a warm car, hot seat, and fully defrosted windshield. I wish you could set the heated steering wheel the same as the seat. At least I don't think that's possible but could be wrong.

Didn’t know you could code the heated seats to remember being on from shut off.

I finally got mine on 12/15 and got to install it yesterday, took all trim off and folded carpet back . Removed first wire harness and they had another misprint the wires weren’t there. They had me in * 8B and it was supposed to be * 7B . Support was very good and pinpointed the problem immediately .Followed the rest of the instructions and hoped for the best and it worked on the first try ! I already had my tailgate coded for the 5 second delay so to turn the car off with the three presses of the tailgate button worked fine . I can’t get my heated seats to stay on . Turn them on before shut off but don’t come back on at start up ? Cold weather is coming so just in time ! Again I have a My18 GOi X3 but couldn’t find any info on the Bimmertech remote start on that forum, so thanks for the information and letting me jump in ! Thanks again.

You can choose the memory duration for both the driver and passenger seat heater. Change it to unlimited:
