3rd Row (7 seats) question
I'm about to pull the trigger on an X5 but it has 7 seats. I'd rather have 5 seats and the extra luggage space. Is it possible to take the 3rd row of seats out?

If you don't use them, you can keep them folded down and enjoy the space, but you will not have the space underneath the seats for spares and others.

You can just keep them folded down. The spare tire space will be taken up by the seats. You will still have the same space in the rear for regular groceries and cargo as one without the 3rd row seating.

I have third row and they have already come in very handy. If you are in the age group where your friends and family have small children the third row is great. Don’t put an adult back there though. Or they might hate you.

Also adds a more comfy 2nd row - Different padding, different leather cut plus reclining seats.
My wife was all-in on the 3rd row and I was take-it or leave-it, but in the end I'm glad we have it. Load leveling, more comfort, more capacity... It does come at the expense of greater repair bills tho! Those airbags are decidedly less reliable than springs. |

Luggage space is the same with the 3rd row folded down. There is also a narrow compartment to store misc things.
