Looks like it so far. There is a black, but dinged, glove box door on ebay right now. It has the net inside it.

wow, that is absurd. i don't value this feature that much that it warrants the replacement of the glove box door and lining for the elastic strap.

Not only did my recent build X5M lose the storage net in the glove box I also don't have the elastic band that is in the center arm rest. It was a nice feature to keep my stuff from rolling around in there. Seems pointless to cut corners in these areas since they aren't expensive parts.

same here, but inexpensive parts over several hundred thousand units built/sold adds up to savings. i watched a documentary on bmw on cnbc and one area their analysts felt they could save money is the amount of paint that goes on the clutch, brake and accelerator pedals. they reduced it by one third and saw substantial savings to their bottom line and increase in profit margins.

the other areas bmw is now shaving costs is the maintenance plan duration, how comprehensive it is and no longer being associated with vehicle but original owner only.
