Well, I wasn't even on a forum then, but back in 2006 when I first saw an e70, I almost drove into a tree I thought it was so gorgeous.

This one, well, I really hope the bit about a die-cast model is right. Because it certainly is underwhelming.

I actually LOVE the front look of this.
BMW X5 lineup never really had a solid front look, it was always uncertain and ugly (too many lines, angles, unnecessary ugly plastic lips and parts)
Not feeling the back, the LCI better change that back....

Looks much better solid SUV (exterior point of view) than Audis in my opinion

Front isn't bad looking, the back looks cheaply to me. Hopefully, its better looking or no X5 replacement.

this version of the X5 doesnt have the wider fenders on it like the pic below, this is why it looks kinda slim. these might come on the high end version.

not to mention the tiny rims too.

throw 21" OEM wheels and add the wider fenders and it will totally transform how this car looks in reality.

The front is really not bad. In a better suited color I think it will look nice, except for the HORRIBLE Fog Light location.

I quite like the X3s rear end but stragely it just looks wrong on the X5.

All in all the current X5 is waaaay nicer and you could say it even looks more modern than the new one. Damn I think its Q7 for me next time...

A true "F.ck off" car for the middle east, russia and china markets. Looks awkwardly styled, as if it's their first ever effort (similar feeling you get when you see the original Porsche Cayene, the Subaru SUV and SAAB Suv, etc).

BMW is going from 'confident' to 'bully' in look of its cars. Not sure it's the right way. But hey, at least it's not the Melted-Mess-Mercedes that looks like 10 year old Kias. And KIAs now look better than many German cars. What happened!

On your pic is Msport X5 with painted plastic fender liners, it's not "wider" fenders or anything. So your new X5 and msport X5 will not have differentiate on fenders. I don't think even the X5M has wider fenders, nor M5.

Hmmmm, not sure on this one...... Looks a bit like the current one and also like just a bigger version of the current X1.

Not feeling it and the rear especially. It looks like they are trying to enlarge the X3 rear end.

The front could look meaner. Hopefully the Sports models and Aero kits fixes it if this is truly what we can expect.

The current M Sport has tiny air intakes and plays it very safe... The new one will look WAY meaner as we can tell from the prototypes having huge air intakes (alike the X5M).

Ya, cause the X6 makes a lot of sense. Ugly and impractical.

Personally, I think the new X5 is an improvement over the previous model. Try to use some imagination. Try to imagine the new X5 with 20'' wheels, an M-sport packet, and a better color. It's really not that bad looking. Especially considering the quality of the photo (what is it? Some virtual 360' screenshot?).

I've been laughing for 6 pages. Almost every response to the new X5 has been ''OMG it's so ugly.'' Come on, guys! You weren't born yesterday, were you? Have you ever loved a new model more than the previous? It's so typical - whenever a new model comes out, people hate it with everything they've got. Until they get used to it. And then they love it. Until another new and ugly model comes out. I've got an E60. When it first came out, people were literally crying. It was so ugly.

So let's think first and talk later. :-)
