odometer upon pickup of factory order?

Just curious, what was your odometer upon pickup of your order?

I didn't notice mine was at 30 until I was signing the papers. The car was marked as customer sold so it shouldn't have been used for test drives. The dealership was nice enough to hold the car for a couple of weeks before I took delivery but I wonder if somebody had some fun with it testing out the DHP.

Conspiracy theories....

Mine was at dealership for 3 weeks before pick as I was out, ODO read 10 miles. 30 seems a bit high to me.

I believe mine was at 5 miles.
Agree with @rganguly, 30 is a bit high.

Hmmm I thought so. My last X5 had 11 and it was an on the lot test-drive vehicle. Somebody must have had some fun with it before I did.

My sales paperwork said 25mi. Mine was in LA as well. I read somewhere the cars are driven from the train to the VDC so maybe that's part of it? Mine was at the dealership for less than a day before I got it.

A tad high, but probably just what CLCX5 said. I'd worry about more important things like what you're going to mod first, what things you're going to code to get them the way you want, etc. Enjoy the new ride!

Ah okay, hope that's it. Thanks for the reassurance.

First mod is done, had them put on the black grills which i purchased myself since they weren't doing port installs. Second "mod" will be tinting of the front windows. Definitely will look into a tune, we have quite a few choices now on that front. A set of all season tires is on the to-do list... the Delintes opasha recommends sound like a great value and they seem to be popular on SRTs. I just received my ESYS cable yesterday so I'll be studying the coding thread this weekend.

What I may like most about the F15 is that it keeps me busy!

They all go through a little shakedown cruise at the factory, basically a quick rundown on a dyno type machine. Some percentage of them get a more indepth longer check. Then they get driven out of the factory to a large parking area, waiting for shipment. Just driving around to the back side of some of those parking lots could put a couple miles on it. Then they get driven onto the train or truck. Then they get driven off the train or truck at the prep center... probably a pretty big parking lot there also, then driven back onto a truck. Then the dealership has big checklist of things to go through and probably do a quick little test drive. So anyway, there are a lot of variables like where it gets parked in big giant parking lots. 6 is about the least number of miles I've ever heard of, 25 or 30 is not that unusual. Having said that, every BMW I've ever ordered, I've instructed the dealer specifically that it was not to be used for test drives. But I wouldn't worry about it much. It serves no purpose and there's nothing that can be done at this point anyway.

Just consider yourself lucky. Yours got picked to go through the extended factory checklist. You're less likely to have problems because they op checked more stuff. Just keep telling yourself that.

5 miles. Picked up same day as delivered to dealer. I am fairly confident there was nothing from the dealer other than filling the tank.

My dealer let me take mine home to show my wife and drive it for a day. So, it had about 45 miles before I bought it - granted I put 40+ of those miles on it. Frankly I didn't look or care. But my question is, why the concern over 30 miles?

I bought a Merc CPO with 11,000 miles on it with no problems and a 100,000 mile warranty - better than new because someone else ate the depreciation and I got twice the warranty.
