Multi-Contour Mocha Nappa w/Ventilation in ATL
Will be ordering a new X5 soon. I have called the Atlanta dealers and none of them have a X5 in stock with the Mocha Nappa Multi-Contour Ventilated Seats in stock. Is there anyone in the Atlanta area that has this option that would be willing to meet at a Starbucks or somewhere and let the wife and I see this in person before placing an order. I'll buy your coffee. Thanks ahead of time. This is a big purchase.
I posted this over on the "fest" forum too. I'd hate to order something we haven't seen in person. I've seen pics of both, but want to sit on them and feel the cushioning differences etc. |

In case you don't find anyone, try the multi contour seat in 5 or X6.
I'm sure any dealer would have multi contour option model readily available. I think tilting back and leather dashboard is pretty bargain for the price. It's much more expensive in other brand's competitive model. |

We ordered these on our X5. Now the wife will never do without!
The ventilation is a bit of a farce as it really doesn't do much. But the seats are unbelievably comfortable. The Nappa leather is very soft and supple. Some people have expressed concerns about longevity but so far we have had no issues. We have approximately 8000 miles on it. |

Definitely tough finding ones out there. I was unable to sit in a ventilated multi contour seat when deciding on mine. But I did sit in both a X5 with multi countour seats without ventilation and normal seats. The normal seats are quite lousy IMHO, so I knew that MC seats were a must. Also, I figure that since I live in a hot climate, the extra $50 bucks for the ventilated seats was a no brainer as well. Good luck!

Nappa. You can't get MC seats with the Mocha interior unless you get the Mocha Interior Design Package. Otherwise it's standard seats with Dakota Mocha, or if you get M Sport line, sports seats with Mocha Dakota.

How much more comfortable would you say the MC seats are versus the standard? Did you sit on the non ventilated MC seats? Some guys are saying you lose cushioning by going to the ventilated seats, but I like them in the summer.
Did you code yours to blow harder? I've read that can be done. |

It should be a "sub-option" under the Mocha Design pkg...

I do not believe that you can get the ventilated seats in the Nappa leather. I know that there is no restriction in the order guide, but it will not allow you to select the Luxury Seating Package with the Mocha Nappa on the configurator. I might be wrong, but I believe that it is a durability issue. The Nappa leather is much softer than Dakaota and much softer to the touch. I have not noticed a huge comfort difference, however. I have kids, so the Dakota was the easy choice for me. If I did not have kids, I would have purchased the Mocha Nappa in a heartbeat. Last edited by Trojanlaw; 12-02-2014 at 01:40 PM.. |
